Crowley looked down at the piece of paper in front of him. A pen was in his hand. No, this wasn't his scene, but he was staring role.
The pen moved across the paper, gliding with grace. One would expect a demon to have sloppy, smudged penmanship, but everything about Crowley was unexpected.

It all happened in the blink of an eye. Aziraphale was facing Hell. His eyes were bloodshot. His voice was raspy. Stab wounds covered his body. Bloody tears stained his skin.
As if this couldn't get any worse, they were strapping him down to an operation table, preparing to remove his wings. He wanted to fight back, but all energy had left his body hours ago. All will and hope were slowly draining away too.
"Please, please have mercy!" he cried, "I'll do anything!"
Beelzebub stood in front of him and said, "We know you'll do anything, but will Crowzzley do anything for you izz what we're trying to figure out. Now, in thizz experiment we're trying to get you to fall. We're szzeing what it takezz to fell an angel without you actually falling."
Aziraphale pressed his face to the cold, metallic surgical table and groaned, "That doesn't make me feel any better."
"Get on with it boyzz!" Beelzebub shouted before walking away.
Then Aziraphale felt it. A knife sliced delicate bundles of nerves.
"No! Oh Lord help me! Save me! Stop!"
Each muscle attaching his wings was slowly sliced apart. There was nothing comparable to the sharp pain.
Due to all the screaming, he lost his voice. He knew he'd never be able to sing celestial harmonies again.
By the time his second wing was being removed he was finished fighting. Something was beginning. Thoughts of being alone flooded his mind. He believed that Crowley wouldn't love him like this.
"... Never would love an ugly angel..."

1. He's so beautiful - I'm not talking about the way he looks, but his kindness, his joyfulness, his warmth. While all of that radiates from the cute smile on his face, or his soft body, he could have none of it, and still be my beautiful Aziraphale. I'd still be happy and love him.
Crowley looked at the hour glass in front of him. He sighed with sadness as he pressed the pen to the paper again.
2. He's always run to me (if I don't run, to him first) - I know even if he wasn't an angel, he'd be at my side. I love him, and he loves me. There's nothing that could ever stop us. No matter how many fights we've had, we'll draw back to each other, just like magnets.

Aziraphale was pulled up from the operation table, flipped over and tied back down. He could see the demons standing over him.
"An angel isn't an angel without wings. What are you now?"
A response couldn't be given.
Aziraphale closed his eyes and silently begged for sleep. It would never come.
Knives cut into his stomach. Pounds of muscle and fat were removed. His bones were cracked.
He was alone.

Crowley continued writing.
3. He's my best friend - More than a lover, he's my best friend in the entire world. We've been through 6000 years of humanity together. It's been us together since Eden.
4. I'm afraid - Afraid. Fear. He soothes me. Sometimes he's scared too, but he'll always make sure I'm alright. I'll never have to be afraid when he's around.

"Crow-" Aziraphale coughed, "-ley? How's Crowley?"
Beelzebub said, "He'zz working on hizz end of the bargain. Better pray he'll be able to do it, because he'zz running out of time."
Aziraphale nodded and closed his eyes as he was injected. Rounds of injections, different drugs, toxins; he took it all. He did it for Crowley.
Everyone in Hell believed Aziraphale lost hope. They believed he lost his love for Crowley. They were wrong. He'd always love Crowley, even if he wasn't loved in return.
If he could fight to love Crowley, he could take anything they threw at him.
After the injections they took the feathers from the wings that were removed. Each feather was slowly burnt in Hell Fire, causing Aziraphale extreme pain all over his body.

Crowley carefully unscrewed a bottle of Holy Water that Aziraphale kept in his bookshop. He then dropped a single, white feather into it and moved away from the area, returning to the paper.
5. He's so strong - He'll march into Hell and back for me. He'll stand in the rain, with his wings spread over me, just to keep me dry. He'll trust me. He'll forgive me. He'll do anything. It takes an incredible strength to do anything for a demon. He's strong enough.
6. Every day he shows me I'm enough - When I fell I lost everything. I lost my sense of being. I lost my sanity. I lost my light. Aziraphale doesn't care. He'll love me no matter what. He believes I'm everything I need to be.
7. He's all I need - He teaches me how to love. He gives me a place of belonging. He's my home. He's the light and love I lost when I fell. Yes, he could loose it all, but I believe as long as we have each other that we'd still be enough for each other. We're our own kind.
Crowley waited for the ink to dry before wrapping it up and enclosing it in an envelope.
"I love you, Aziraphale. I'm coming angel."
After whispering that he got up and ran to the main entrance of Hell. When he got there he presented the reasons.
Crowds of demons laughed and taunted him.
"The demon who loves an angel! What a joke!"
Soon after the demon who loved an angel, saw his angel.
"Aziraphale! Angel! You- oh angel!"
Aziraphale looked at Crowley and began to cry. With his last burst of will he ran to him. He was relieved to be safe in Crowley's arms.
"Shh, angel. I'll stand trial. You'll be alright."
Beelzebub said, "You won't stand trial. Your punizzhment izz in your armzz. He's not an angel now. Now take him. He'll die if what you said in your list doesn't stay true."
Aziraphale looked up at Crowley with tears in his eyes.
The two of them went back to the bookshop. For hours Crowley worked to clean and stitch up Aziraphale. Tears ran down both of their cheeks.
"I'm so sorry angel. I should have been there for you."
Aziraphale grabbed Crowley's hand and squeezed it. He mouthed the words, "It's alright, dear. I'm with you."
Crowley hugged Aziraphale and said, "I'll never forgive myself. I love you."
He then got a blanket for Aziraphale and wrapped him up in it before leaving. He wasn't able to see Aziraphale mouth, "I love you too."
There was one thing Crowley was able to see. His Bentley went up in flames. Down the street he could see his apartment on fire too.
"And they'll take it all... Everything."
The next few weeks were as hard for Crowley as they were for Aziraphale. Things were getting better though.
Little nubs poked against the skin on Aziraphale's back. He was able to talk again, but didn't have the joyfulness in his voice. He sounded sad. It was a warm, engulfing kind of sadness.
The Them often visited with Aziraphale. They'd bring him get well cards and flowers.
With a little help from the Antichrist, a new Bentley appeared in front of the bookshop one day.
"Mr. Anthony were very sorry your husband is getting sick, so I fixed your car again," Adam said before he left one day. This made Crowley very happy.
As more time went on Aziraphale became unbreakable. His new wings were black and white. His halo was cracked, but not broken. One of his blue irises turned solid black.
One thing that didn't change was Crowley's love for Aziraphale.
It never will.
