"All this while he's already your husband to be" Mufeeda said
"This is unbelievable"
Nafeasa and Mufeeda where in my room,the moment Sumayya pass them this massage they couldn't stop themselves from coming,but instead of them to cry with me they are all excited
You should stop that please,you are supposed to cry with me for my misfortune but no,you keep augumenting about the situation"
"Cry with you,for what this call for celebration"
"Who wouldn't love to have ya Nabil as a husband,infact if we cry with you it means we're envious "
"I don't like it"
"Don't even lie Afi I Know you like ya Nabil"
"No I don't"
"Okay then,so tell me How can you explain all this heart beats escalating, goosebumps, how you feel when he's talking to you, how his voice make you flutter,just by the sight of him you ....
"Stop" I shout closing my ears with a pillow,I can't keep calm letting her expose my little secrets
"Ohhh I can see the blushes" Mufeeda said,at that time I hate being a light skin.
"But he.. he hate me" I said
"There was I a saying ' behind every hatred there is love even if it's done in denial' " said Mufeeda
"I agree, all this scolding and cold attitude is love" she added astonishingly
"That explains when ever he saw you with another man he get angry,he got mad when he finds out you step out at night alone" Nafeasa said
"All this while he have been taking care of what is already his" Mufeeda said her eyes twinkling
It's now dawned to me,he always got furious when he sees me with another man, he almost got in fight with Sadiq,that day he scolded me to the core and warned me to stay away from him,not just Sadiq other suitors too he warned to stay away from any of them.
That got me wondering if he's going to marry me,I have once asked him out of annoyance but the murderous look I received instantly shut me up.
"Aaaahhhhh" I scream out
"What is wrong with you"
"Are you okay"
They all ask in unison.
"I want to cry out"
"No no no keep that precious tears for the day you'll be taking to his house" Nafeesa said
"You people aren't helping wallahi,you just are making fun of me" I said in annoyance.
"Let's pop a Champaign for this union" the bubbly Sumayya barged in with her companion,Amara and Rukayya.
"What a good idea" Nafeesa agreed
They popped the champagne and distribute to each one of them.
"Cheers to this Wonderful union" they shouted in unison
I just sat there watching them bemusedly,now I know the kind of friends I have.
We ended up having a sleepover in my room,we play games and we are now planning on watching a movie
"Which kind of movie will we watch" I asked
"Let's watch a romance movie" Sumayya suggested
"No no no count me out" I objected
"But that explains the current situation we are in" Sumayya said
"You are in dai not we"
"Okay let watch historical or mystery" Mufeeda said
We all shouted no,who watch historical movies now.
"Let watch horror movie" I suggested
"Yeah that is great idea so which one are we going to watch" Nafeesa agreed
"Let's watch Halloween end" Rukayya said
"No we shall watch Scream and then Hereditary" I said they were in my to watch list that I couldn't have time to watch it
"Yeah good choice"
"Okay but you have to maintain your self, don't scream loudly or you'll get scolded" I said
"Pls can we not watch horror movie"
Amara said
"Are you scared already" I asked
"No I'm not scared"
"You shouldn't be because we are watching that" I said not giving a room for objecting
"Let go and make popcorns while you set it." Sumayya said dragging Amara with her
"Lemme bring cola and snacks" Rukayya said
We set the room while they went to make the corn,we make the light dim in the room. We changed into our pajamas and we are all settled.
Not long after we start watching the movie, Amara and Mufeeda start screaming, Rukayya look scared but she maintain her self.
It's just I, Nafeesa and Sumayya who have a little confidence. I and Sumayya use to watch horror movie so we are used to it.
We used to scream and run up and down when we are watching, Mummy will always come and scold us before we stop watching. We couldn't sleep alone after we watch it,we will be attached to each other like a magnet till morning.
I got thirsty halfway through,I checked the water jug on the side table but find empty.
"Sumayya you didn't fill the water jug"
"I forget it"
"I'm thirsty go bring water for me"
"I swear I can't went down I'm scared" she said
"Amara go bring water for me"
"Do you want me to have heart attack"
"You should go by yourself or are you scared too" Nafeesa said
"Me no I just don't want to be down"
Since that event I didn't step out of my room,I couldn't even see my mum off she just checked on me before going.
"You must go down if you're really thirsty" Mufeeda said
"You need to take your medicine too" Sumayya reminded me
"Oh I forget about it"
"I have never seen an asthmatic patient so careless about their health like you" Mufeeda said
"I'm going" I said standing up, I picked the jug and went out.
The kitchen lights were switch off indicating no one inside,I on the light and move to the dispenser. I fetch the water and turn around to leave when I saw a figured coming into the kitchen,I let out a loud scream out of fear.
The air in my lungs blocked,the airway in my lungs become swelled and inflamed,my heart rate increase rapidly. Before I Know it I started wheezing, gasping for air. My body goes through the fight and flight response.
"Breath in and out gently" a voice said
But only shallow breathing were coming
"Look at me and inhale" some one said stroking my back but I'm just wheezing.
The person make me sit on a chair comfortably and said " calm down okay, follow my step" I look at the person and find out it's ya Nabil but the state I'm in now is more worst so I just comply with him
"Inhale" he said demonstrating and I do
"And Exhaled" I did that to
He did for a while before my breath start becoming stable.
"Have some water" he said giving me a cup of water,when discovered I'm struggling to get it to my mouth he helped me with it.
"Where is your inhaler" he ask worriedly
"in my room" I said shortly
"Have you take your medicine" he ask again
"I'm about to take it" I said not meeting his eyes
"Why are you being careless about your health,you are supposed to take it since 3 hours back but you still haven't take it"
He scolded to which I just keep quiet not having the courage to say something,I hate taking medicine,just at that moment we heard a loud shrieks toward my room.
"What is happening there,why are they shouting" he ask
"We are watching a horror movie" I said timidly
"You are aware of that can trigger your asthma but you still went ahead and watch" he ask enraged
Yeah strong emotions can trigger my asthma, laughing, crying, yelling loudly or even too much stress,fear or anxiety can cause shallow breathing triggering asthma attack.
And this is what happened now out of fear of the horror movie I'm watching makes me scream out of fear making my lungs to swelled.
"I Ii... Just " I couldn't complete when I let out cough and wheeze
" Stop talking " he said calmly
After some minutes,I feel relieved
"You should all go and sleep it's past mid night already, quit watching that and it should be the last time you watch that kind of movie" he warned
"Okay" I obeyed, but then who will quit watching horror movies, definitely not me,they are my favorites.
"Take your medicine and go to sleep" I nodded picking my water jug and went to my room leaving him standing there
