Head canon: L stresses after arguments

You sat in the food court of the shopping centre at about midnight in your pyjamas. It wasn't very classy but you needed to get away from everything for a while.

You'd had a massive fight with L right in the middle of the investigation and stormed out. You were angry at him for sure. The whole taskforce saw so you really didn't want to see them either. You sipped your bubble tea, listening to the chill music coming from the shops speakers. It was probably a weird sight to those walking by, a girl in pjs with little ghosts on them, sipping bubble tea with mascara stains on her cheeks as midnight. You didn't really care.

Thank god for late night shopping or you'd have to find somewhere else to hide.

You eventually got bored of just sitting around so you got up and threw the empty cup in the bin, going into a near by shop, you did need some socks anyway so why not get some while you were here.

You managed to find some socks with little bows on them and decided to grab 6 pairs and leave. You left the shopping centre with your new socks and decided to walk around the busy city and take in the surroundings, making sure to avoid the dodgy paths. You walked past some girls trying to handle their drunk friend, a couple that just got married, a group of boys waiting outside a club and a stray cat. You made it into the centre of the city where a light display was.

You sat on one of the glowing chairs and swung it back and fourth, looking around the city.

You didn't know what you were doing but you didn't want to go home yet.

The area was surrounded by restaurants and shops, security guards around them, you knew you'd be safe here.

You were completely oblivious to what was going on back at taskforce.

"He's been in his room for an hour now" Light said.

"And (y/n) isn't back yet" Matsuda added.

"(Y/n) probably went home, I know she's living here and all but she still has a house" Misa jumped in.

"Should we check on L? I've never seen him get that angry before" Matsuda asked.

Light put his hands up in surrender.

"I'm not going, he hates me so he's definitely not going to talk to me" He said.

Misa and Light looked at Matsuda.

"Don't look at me, he doesn't trust me enough with case stuff so there's no way he'd talk to me"

They looked at Misa.

"You think he'd talk to me? I'm a suspect"

"But your probably the best option, you know about relationships and stuff" Matsuda said.

"Fine"

Misa got up and and went upstairs, off to find L. She listened against the door but didn't hear anything.

"Hey L?" She said.

No response.

"L?" She repeated.

Nothing.

She slowly opened the door peeking into his floor. She walked in and began to look for him, he wasn't on the sofa, he wasn't eating his feelings, he wasn't on the balcony. She crept down the hall and found his door to his room was closed.

"Hey L?" She said slowly opening the door.

She found him tangled in the blankets, his face buried into the pillows, it was definitely out of character for L. Misa had never seen him show so much emotion before. She suddenly felt really bad for him.
