"So... purple?"

I turn to Rin, who seems to be the only one interested in me to a different extent.

"Rin." Yukio says loudly, shooting him a look.

"What?" Rin says. "I want to get to know her. Don't you? Yah know, break the ice a little?"

Yukio sighs. "This just isn't the most appropriate time."

Rin sighs and lowers his head.

"It's like Satan's blue flames. But my flames harness energy." I say. I look at Rin and his face lights up.

"Harness energy?" Rin smiles. "Cool!"

"Elaborate for us, Judi-San." Yukio adds.

Rin looks at Yukio and smiles a small smile.

"Well..." I say. "Besides my flames, I have the ability to take energy away from any living thing. Once I have enough energy... my flames go crazy. I try to make my flames go down, but... it's impossible."

Yukio looks at Rin and gives back that same small smile.

"You're just like me, Judi." Rin says. He looks at Yukio, who gives him a nod. Rin holds out the palm of his hand, and a small blue flame appears.

I jump, clutching onto Yukio's coat. The blue flame.

"You're..." I extend my shaking arm. "The Son of Satan."

"Hey, you're the Daughter of the Flieder Death!"

"Fair enough..." I smile, shyly.

When we arrive at the room, Shura is already there waiting for us with Shiemi behind her.

"Well, it took you long enough, Four-Eyed Chicken." Shura groans as we enter.

Rin runs up to Shiemi and picks her up, holding her in his arms.

"Not everyone is as fast as you, Shura." Yukio says.

Yukio sets me down on the bed besides us. He walks up to Shura and smiles.

"Clearly." Shura smiles. She pulls him closer by his coat. "You need to catch up, Yukio."

I see the both of them staring intently into each other's eyes. Clearly they're into each other, they just don't know how to take it any further. Well, at least Yukio doens't know how to.

"Come on, Yuki-Chan. Your delivery is at the shop!" Shiemi smiles, walking hand-in-hand with Rin.

Yukio nods. "You keep an eye on Judi. And Rin."

Rin scoffs. "I don't need anyone lookin' after me, asshole."

Shiemi kisses Rin, and heads out with Yukio. Rin and Shura sit down at the table across from my bed, drinking hot tea.

"I don't know if you decide to light it up when you're having a nightmare or some shit, but I don't want to see any of your damn flames tonight." Shura says as she sips her tea.

"Well I don't want to see you pulling that sword out of your chest, either." Rin scoffs.

"What about you, Judi?" Shura snaps. "Are your flames as reckless as Rin's?"

I sit up on the bed. "My flames have a mind of their own. They choose to be reckless, if they want to be."

Shura and Rin look at each other.

"Well. if you're anything like your mother, we all know that isn't true." Shura says, putting her cup of tea down. "Lila Rilegeki... she used her flames and fought with them as if she unslaved them. They did whatever she made them do... She choked people, slaughtered them."

Shura gets up from her seat and walks up to me. She kneels in front of me and holds one of my hands. "She was a monster, Judi. But... the way she used her flames- the way she fought with them... was amazing. When they told me about her, they said she even used them as wings. They were that strong. Of course, she didn't start off being able to do that. All it took was patience, control, and willpower."

She points her finger on my palms. "First, you control it with your hands. And then the rest of your body, and then your mind. Once you control it with your mind..." She looks up at me.

"It seems more easily said than done." I mumble. "My mom made it seem so easy... as if it just came natural to her."

"Maybe it did come naturally. But that doesn't mean that it's impossible for you, Judi." Shura turns to Rin. "You should be listening too, Rin."

Rin stands up. "I have been listening! But you're right Judi, it's way more harder than it sounds."

"Shut up!" Shura yells.

"I don't have to shut up!" Rin shouts back.

"I'm not going to put up with your shit all night. I didn't do this for Yukio just so I could deal with immaturity." Shura hisses, standing up with balled fists.

"Oh really? At this point, sounds like you'd do anything for Yukio." Rin laughs, mockingly.

Shura glares at Rin. "What... the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"It's so obvious that you and Yukio have some kind of thing going on. And since he's too much of a loser to make any moves, you're making them for him." Rin spits.

"Oh, give me a break, Rin!" Shura screams. "Since when are you ever attentive to anything?"

"I'm not stupid, Shura!" Rin immediately bursts into the blue flames. His ears widen and his teeth become noticably sharper.

"Well, since you get to play with your flames," Shura pulls a purple and green sword out of her chest. "I can have my own fun."

Rin releases his own sword, running after her. Shura's sword clashes with Rin's, pushing her back.

"Guys...." I say, as I watch Rin and Shura attack each other. "Cut it out!"

They ignore me and continue to clash their swords, Rin's flames progressively getitng larger.

Shura knocks Rin's sword out of his hand with hers, and procedes to push him to the ground. She hops on top of him and punches his face.

"Wow, for the Son of Satan you sure know how to defend yourself against a girl!" Shura laughs and she continues to punch him and slap him. "You're making this too fun for me, Okumura!"

Rin screams and holds up his left hand.

And then it's in this moment that time seems to slow down. A large blue flame leaves the palm of his hand. He aims for Shura, but misses just by a hair. The flame comes slowly to me, but it seems to be going coming rather slowly. It gets closer and closer- all the way up to the tip of my nose.

"Judi!"

Shura jumps in front of me, shielding the flame from my face with her sword, which seems to have changed its shape.

The flame bounces off of the sword, and back to Rin, who had just gotten onto his feet.

He jumps back onto the floor, hitting his head on the chair behind him.

Shura exhales deeply and slips her sword back into her chest.

"You dumbass!" She yells to Rin. "You nearly took her face off!"

Rin sighs and rubs his head. "I'm sorry, Judi-San."

"I-It's fine..." I say. I make sure not to make it evident, but my heart is pounding out of my chest. If I was able to control my flame and use it like Shura was telling me... I could have stopped it all on my own.

"Don't tell Yukio about this," Rin says as he gets up.

"As long as you don't say anything..." She says back. She turns to me. "You should get some rest. Seems to me like you've had quite the day."

I nod my head and slowly lay myself down, placing my hand over my stomach. I feel a long stitch across my stomach.

I would try and remember what happened... but for once, the energy is gone.

And it's then that I close my eyes and sleep.
