6- Harry
Chapter dedication: @Pxychopathx

Harry ran a hand through his hair, eyes darting through the parking lot. Sure enough, there they were. Louis and Liam had just exited the car and were slamming their doors shut. Through the anxiety Harry had had since the news had been broken out, he couldn't help but smile widely. His boots trailed footsteps behind him as he walked into the parking lot. Liam waved his hand up in a wave, walking forward. Under his blue jacket, he was wearing a red sweater, dark jeans covering his legs. Dark circles were visible under his eyes, and his hair was messy as if he'd been constantly running a hand through it. Nevertheless, he had a forced smile on his face. Liam pulled him into a hug, patting his back. "How are you doing?"
Harry nodded. "Fine, you?"
"Been better." Liam chuckled lightly, and Harry noticed how his voice came out stuffy.
He turned to Louis with a huge smile and pulled him into a hug. Louis looked better, no darks circles present under his eyes. He looked a bit groggy though, like he'd just woken up. His hair was messed up than being gelled, and he was dressed in warm sweatpants and a sweater under his jacket.

"I've missed you."  Louis whispered, his warm breath ticking Harry's cold ear. "I've missed you too." Harry smiled, and pulled back, but his smile soon dropped as he took a deep breath. He'd been dreading for this, to ask the question. Had Zayn really been kidnapped? It was hard to believe, and Harry couldn't quite wrap his mind around it. Surely there must have been a mistake? They had no proof or anything that Zayn had not just been his careless self.
As if sensing what he was going to say, Louis nodded, his face grim. "Yeah. We got a call."
Harry's eyes widened, and Liam motioned for him to sit in the car. As he climbed inside, he immediately demanded they tell him everything. From top to toe. Liam drived, and Louis did the talking. He explained what Zayn had been doing while he was kidnapped, and how the conversation on the phone had been.
"So he just ended, like that?" Harry asked when Louis finished, his blood boiling. He had never felt so angry as he had now, knowing Zayn was being held somewhere in the captain's custody.

Louis narrowed his eyes, his nostrils flaring. "He said he wanted five million pounds, but didn't discuss the meeting place. That damned son of a-"
"Did you guys tell the police?" Harry cut him off.
Louis shook his head. "No, we were going to but thought we'd pick you up first."
Liam cleared his throat, his hands tightening around the steering wheel. "Also, he sent a photo." he said, the longest he'd spoken so far. "A photo of Zayn."
Harry's eyes widened and he glanced at Louis who's jaw was clenched. "I have it in my phone too." He pulled his phone out and placed it into Harry's hand.
Harry's heart sank as he stared at the phone screen. Tied to a pillar, Zayn was sitting on the floor. His hands were handcuffed and were resting in his lap. The worst part, however was how Zayn looked. Not even been a whole day and he looked sick. His parted chapped lips were slightly blue, his face white, his hands red, and his messy raven hair was losing it's waxed quiff. His hazel eyes held confusion, anger and desperation. Just at the mere sight of him like this made Harry's heart break.

"We thought maybe the police could track his phone." Louis said, a bit deflated. He sighed and turned to look out the window where the snow lay like a white blanket over the buildings and trees.
Harry bit his lip. "What do you think he's up to? Are you sure he wants ransom?"
Liam took a deep breath. "I've been thinking about it too, and three options have crossed my mind. Either he wants ransom, but is trying to scare us, show us that we have to give him the money. Or he wants ransom and will eventually return Zayn ..." Liam's jaw tightened. "Or he wants something else."
Silence hung in the air, and Harry thought deeply on what Liam had just said.
The options made sense. Except for the most easy one, that he wanted ransom and would return Zayn back immediately.
Harry couldn't help but dread, for Zayn, and for the upcoming days.

Officer Al greeted them, his face grim. He motioned for them to sit down, asking a guy around twenty to bring more seats. Harry couldn't help but stare at him as he brought more chairs. He looked...familiar. Not all too, but like he'd seen him at least once before. Trisha didn't seem to notice, nor did Louis, but Harry caught Liam frown at the boy.
"This is Jake, by the way." Al says dismissively, trying to clean the scattered mess of papers on his desk. Eventually he just settled with plopping down in his recliner, sighing heavily. Jake nodded at Trisha, smiling at the three boys as if greeting some old friends.
"So, you're Liam who Zayn talked to before the kidnapping, right?" Al asked, picking up a notebook and a pencil. Liam nodded curtly.
"Just give me a brief explanation of the conversation." Al told him and Liam plunged into telling what he and Zayn had been talking about. As Harry listened, he knew it was damn suspicious that the taxi driver had disappeared without taking the money.

After listening to what Liam had to say, Al nodded finally. "And the call, you said you got it?"
Trisha nodded, visibly swallowing heavily. "Y-yes we did."
"He wanted money, or...?" Al asked carefully.
Louis began to explain to him exactly what the stupid kidnapper, the captain had spoken over the phone. Harry's stomach churned as he listened to the story again, his anger for the kidnapper increasing. That's it, he thought. The man was labeled as a criminal captain before, but now he was a kidnapper to them all. A dangerous, heartless kidnapper.
Al sat up straighter. "Zayn called, Tom didn't?"
Harry scrunched his face in confusion. "Who the heck is Tom?"
"That's his name." Louis grumbled from beside him. "Tom Falcon or something." he turned back to Al. "Yeah Zayn called, but-"
"Where's the phone?"  Al demanded, hand outstretched. Harry watched as Trisha pulled out a sleek black iPhone, handing it to the officer.

Al immediately went to the caller's list and scribbled down something. Harry leaned over to peer over his desk and noticed that it were numbers. Zayn's phone number.
"Jake, get this to Marcus, now." Al said, and Jake obliged nodding as he left the room with the notebook.
"I want you to listen carefully." Al said, speaking slowly. "Tom's not like any criminal I've dealt with. You cannot give him the money and go alone, understood? Next call has to be planned, a meeting place. But-" Al paused, thinking hard. "I don't get it. Why did he call so early, and didn't even plan a place? He knows damn well that five million pounds is no problem for you guys."
Harry shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "What if he doesn't want ransom?"
Al's gaze turned to him and after studying his face for a few seconds, he nodded. "It makes sense. He's been laying low, or he was laying low. He could've kidnapped Zayn without us knowing. He wants us to know."
"But what do we do?" Trisha asked worriedly.
"We wait for the second call." Al said simply, standing up from his seat. "And in the meantime we start our investigation."

Got a bit carsick but yeah. First day of school was awesome. Ugh ninth grade. I am not looking forward to tenth tbh. I've had fun so far, and updates won't be as regular as they were, obviously. Idk, it depends on homework, chores, and just general mood.
Pic of where I went ^^ we rented a cabin ;)
