Part II - Chapter 3

Start from the beginning

Except it's not there.

No, instead an empty patch of land is where the mansion used to be.

"It's terrible isn't it?" A voice calls from behind me. Only I know who that voice is. It's the voice that haunts me while I am asleep and awake.

It's Anthony.

I turn around to see him standing behind me a couple of feet away. "The house that I started my family in, the house that you met yours in. Just gone. That sucks for the both of us doesn't it?" He stands beside me and we both stare out at the empty patch of land.

Rage builds inside me. They aren't his family. I am not his family. My family is somewhere far away.

Tears fall from my eyes as my body shakes in pure rage. "They are not your family. They are mine and you are not and will never be my family, much less my father!" I snapped with hatred laced in my tone.

In an instant I am on the ground and he gives me a good kick to my diaphragm making me wheeze for air. Tears are falling down my face as a punch is delivered to my gut. Anthony grabs my collar and lifts me up in the air only to thrown hard to the ground.

"Say that again Daisy." Anthony commanded me, a murderous look in his eyes.

"You... heard me. You are... a selfish prick who takes and gives nothing in return. You are evil... and you will never be my father." I hissed out taking pauses because I have little to no air in my lungs.

He drops me back down on the ground. He looks at me with hatred. But then it quickly changes to humour. He starts laughing maniacally. Fear builds up in my stomach. The courage and bravery leaving my body as I listen to the laugh he makes right when he is about to beat up someone.

"You, are so goddamn funny doll!" He shouts in laughter as he bends over laughing putting his hands on his knees. "Look at you all feisty little flower. You remind me a bit of me!"

I feel ashamed. I can't be like him. I'm not gonna be like him. I am not like him. Right?

"You my doll," he starts while crouching down to grab my chin as I lay on the ground still. "Are so going to wish you didn't speak to me like that." In an instant he pulls his gun out of his pocket and shoots me in my shoulder. I scream out in agony.

"I'm going to let you feel some pain for a bit. Then... when you wake up you will be in the pit. Huh? How does that sound tiger?"

I started crying. I'm not sure what from. Either the gunshot and the pain from it or the fact I am going back into the pit.

He pushes the bullet deeper into my left shoulder and I scream in complete agony.

"SHUT UP!" He booms at me before he slaps me across the face. Effectively knocking me out of consciousness.

My head feels groggy and my whole body, but specifically my shoulder is in a great amount of pain. Opening my eyes I am greeted by a wall that curves into a complete circle. I look up and sure enough I am in the pit.

My body shakes as I cry my heart out. Whether it's the pain or being in the hole all I know is I am so tired of this. I just want to go home. Please just let me go home. My breathing starts to turn rapid and not having Matteo to comfort me I hyperventilate until I pass out from lack of oxygen.

The next time I wake up I am still directly in the hole. I don't know how long it's been since the mission but all I know is that I clearly haven't eaten or drank anything since I left my hotel that night. My stomach grumbles and my throat feels like a million knives are cutting and stabbing at it.
