"Damn it I'm late!" Fluke scrambled to pick up his bag while shoving an energy bar into his mouth.

He overslept and is late to his part time job which starts at 10PM.

He's currently on his last year of university and is renting a one room condo. Thankfully his classes has some gaps in days between them so he got to fill those gaps with some part time jobs.

He's always been alone, all his life. He  was raised in an orphanage, and then was kicked out as soon as he was of age. Since then, he's been scrapping by himself.

Thankfully, he has always been great in studying so he always received full scholarship. So that's one less thing to worry about.

When he enrolled into the university, he was allowed to stay in the dorm but only for one semester, as the dormitory is only allowed for first years. So then he had to look for some place to stay.

Thankfully enough he found a not so expensive place. The place he's staying now. But being an adult comes with other responsibilities, such as the rent, the bills and his necessities.

On top of that, he also still need to study.

But he never complained. Somehow is he used to it.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" He continue cursing as he ran down the street to the 24/7 convenient store he's currently working at. It is only two block away but since he's already 30 minutes late, he knows his payment will be deducted.

And now, he cannot afford to get his payment deducted.

He reached the convenient store panting, as he opens the door, a jingle can be heard. He can already see his friend, the one he's supposed to take over from with a glare.

"You're late!"

"I know! I'm sorry! I accidentally slept while doing my assignments and I forgot to set my alarm." Fluke explained as he quickly check in to his work. Damn it! His payment is deducted for sure.

The glare on his friend's face soften. He let out a small sigh. "You're really busy nowadays Fluke. You really should take some rest."

Putting his bag under the counter, the small male put on his hat and name tag before moving towards the cash register machine.

Thankfully there's no customer.

"It's okay P'Boun. I don't need to rest. I have plenty." He replied with a smile.

Boun looked at the younger male. He's known Fluke since he started working there, which is one and a half year ago. And he knows just how hard working Fluke is.

"Sorry I'm late P'Boun, I know you have something planned for Prem and I ruined it. I'm really sorry." Fluke said pouting.

"It's okay, don't worry about it. I've called Prem and of course he understands. Well, I'll get going now. Bye Fluke."

The taller male waved as he leave.

Fluke let out a sigh. Seeing as there is not customer, he took out his books from his bag.

His exams are coming and even though all his assignments has already been submitted, he still need to study for the exams.

He was in he middle of taking notes down when he heard the jingles of the door. A customer. He quickly closes the books and put them aside, instead taking out the file for their stocks and double checking them.

"We should get so alcohol."

"Are you crazy? We can't."

The two customers said to each other.
