So we lost.
Badly.
Slytherin was up the entire game, it ended up being 250 to 50 after their seeker caught the snitch right from under James' nose. Like I mean right from under James' nose. The damn thing was hovering at the end of his broom handle and he got distracted by Dominique and Kate screaming at each other in a mixture of English, French, and German. The perks of having bilingual quidditch captains I suppose.
Honestly, I doubt that either of them knew what the other was screaming about.
Anyways, James didn't see the snitch that was literally right in front of him but Slytherin's seeker Theobald Floyd did and that was it.
Game over.
I'm never going to hear the end of it from Ophelia.
"Uncle Harry would be proud of you for that one eh James?" Louis says as James and Hannah pass us on the way back up to the castle.
"Remind me again how you got the seeker spot on the team Potter?" I say adding onto Louis insult.
"At least I didn't lose to my little sister." He snaps.
Ophelia, who's walking up ahead a bit spins around, "You're right! You lost to your little cousin, and you missed the easiest snitch catch I've ever seen!"
"Why don't you come out onto the pitch for once instead of hiding by the posts and I might actually consider you competition!" James says to her.
"Hope you're bringing your broom home for the holidays James because I'm gonna kick your ass all the way to America in the Weasley Christmas match." Ophelia laughs a few times before turning back around to continue her conversation with Scorpius and her friend.
"Fred!" Poppy shrieks from behind us.
Louis laughs and walks over to James and Hannah, leaving me alone to deal with my girlfriend. Yeah I know I should be happy to spend time with her, and how I shouldn't be all like 'I have to deal with her' but like... have you met her?
I turn around just as Poppy throws her arms around my neck. She kisses me hard and pulls away just as fast. "I was really hoping we could celebrate a big win tonight." She says quietly so only I can hear her.
That's another thing. Poppy has recently been pressuring me to... ya know recently, hinting at it every chance that she gets. I just don't think that I'm ready for that, well at least not with her.
I peck her forehead, "Sorry love, maybe if you win the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff match?" I say trying to end the conversation.
Poppy intertwines her fingers with mine and we start walking back up towards the castle. "Suppose that'll have to do. My match is in two weeks, you're going to be in the stands cheering for me right?"
"Uh, yeah course I will be."
Amar appears at my side and claps my back, "That was awful Weasley. I mean honestly, one of the worst matches I've seen." He jokes.
"Oh fuck right off." I say laughing, "Has Molly started your training regime yet?" Molly is the Ravenclaw quidditch captain. She's just as much of a hardass as Dom but she's a little more subtle about it.
Before Amar could say anything, Poppy clears her throat, "Sorry but we're trying to have a conversation here?"
Amar looks at her with his eyebrows raised, "And I'm trying to talk to my best friend?" He says in the same annoyed tone that she was just using.
"Yeah but Fred's my boyfriend!" She snaps.
"Pops I can talk to my friends whenever I want," I say very harshly.
Poppy lets go of my hand and huffs, "Fine then, talk to your friend." She says as she flicks her hair over her shoulder and marching off.
Amar and I look at each other, "Seriously dude, break up with her."
"I dunno how man." I sigh.
"Real simple. You say, Poppy, you're literally the worst person I've ever met, you're controlling, you're voice is awful, and you wear far too much perfume. I'm breaking up with you."
We walk into the castle and we start heading towards the staircase. "Right cause that won't come back and bite me in the ass."
Amar laughs, "You just gotta bite the bullet." He says before he gets off the staircase, heading towards his common room.
The weeks leading up to Christmas holiday were boring as all hell. Hufflepuff ended up losing to Ravenclaw, which meant that Poppy was in a state for about a week and a half. Which also meant that I had to be at her beck and call every second of every day so she wouldn't spin out and do something crazy.
"You gonna spend the night with Poppy?" Louis says to me after dinner. We all leave tomorrow morning for the Christmas holidays. It's weird but I can't wait to be home for a change, this year has been exhausting.
"Nah man, she's doing a girls night or whatever and I don't want to be apart of that."
Louis laughs, "Lit cause we're all going to get trashed in the common room tonight. I've even got Dom to sell me some weed. She's trying to get rid of it before we get back home. Mum would have a fit if she found it, and dad would just smoke it all."
"Bet you a galleon that Lily is gonna snitch on us as soon as we get off the train though," I say as Lou and I walk through the wall and into the common room.
"I would not!" Lily's small voice shouts from inside. "I'm not a tattletale Freddie! It was Al that told mum that James had girls in the house, not me."
I stick my tongue out at her and she does the same thing right back to me. Once we're sure that Longbottom won't come by and check up on us, the older students start pulling their booze out of their trunks and things and starts to drink. The later it gets, the music gets louder. Everything was relatively chill vibes till someone started playing that muggle song Macarena and everyone loses their shit.
Hannah jumps up onto the table and Sophie and Holly have to make sure that she doesn't fall off. "Dale a tu cuerpo alegría Macarena

Dale a tu cuerpo alegría, Macarena" She starts singing loudly and doing the most over-exaggerated version of the Macarena that I've ever seen. I'm really hoping that no one can read my mind because right now, I am wildly attracted to her, more than I've ever been attracted to anyone.
"I didn't know that this song had actual words!" Louis slurs as he shakes his hips and jumps in the complete opposite direction of everyone else.
It gets even worse when Emmy starts to play W.A.P by Cardi B. Holly grabs Louis' hand and pulls him into the middle of the makeshift dance floor that we've got and she starts to grind up on him. Hannah and James are doing pretty much the same thing. I move across the room so I'm standing in the back corner, not to be in any one's way, sipping on a bit of Coke and Firewhisky in one of those basic red cups you see in the muggle movies.
I do a stupid thing and make eye contact with Hannah as she's dancing up on James. I watch her to the point where it gets creepy, but I can't get myself to look anywhere else. The thing is, she never breaks eye contact either. She's got James sucking on her neck but she's looking right at me, and I swear to god, she winked.
At about three in the morning or something, I'm honestly not sure, I'm so drunk that I can barely remember my name right now, all I know is that people start heading back upstairs. Including Hannah and James who are laughing and snogging all their way back upstairs. It hurts to watch not gonna lie.
Louis is passed out on one of the couches, drool dripping out of his mouth like he's a broken fountain. Holly is passed out on the other side of the couch, their legs intertwined. I hope that she knows that it won't go anywhere with him.
I plop myself into the lounge chair that's set up right in front of the fire and take a deep breath. All I'm thinking about is Hannah, replaying the visual of her dancing in my head over and over again. Then her face morphs into Poppy's and it instantly turns me off of the entire idea. Amar is right, I've got to break it off with her. And I've got to stop simping for my cousin's girlfriend.
"Oi Lou. You coming upstairs?" I half-whisper.
Louis just groans loudly and waves his hand in front of his face. I take that as a no. Grabbing my phone off the side table I stand up and stretch out my back, wobbling on my feet a little.
"You calling it a night?"
I turn around and Hannah is standing in the doorway to the girl's dorms, she starts to walk over to me. Something about the way she's walking makes the voice inside my head scream 'GET OUT! GET AWAY! THIS IS NOT GOOD!' but I don't bother listening to it.
"I mean, there's no one to talk to down here so I might as well."
Hanna shakes her hair out of her ponytail and smiles a little, "I'm down here."
The voice in my head is getting louder, screaming at me to just go upstairs and go to bed. But I sit back down on the chair instead, "Thought you'd be up with James by now." I say.
Hanna comes over and sits on the arm of the chair that I'm in. I dunno how she did it but in one swift movement she's got one of her legs over my lap and one of her arms around the back of the chair. "He fell asleep as soon as he lied down on the bed." She says casually.
We start talking about anything and everything, from school to quidditch to family and what we want to get done over the Christmas break. I catch myself looking at her lips when she talks instead of her entire face. The fact that she's so close to me right now isn't helping at all. I try to think of Poppy, the fact that I'm with Poppy and Hannah is with James, but my drunk brain has got different ideas.
"Whatcha looking at Weasley?" Hannah hums, only then do I notice that I've zoned out a bit.
"Hmm? No – nothing sorry." I stumble over my words a little which makes her laugh. Laugh so hard that she loses her balance and slips off of the arm of the chair and into my lap. My breath gets stuck in my chest and I do my best to look like I'm not choking.
Neither of us move for a second. I can feel Hannah's breath on my face, she smells like weed and her breath reeks of booze but somehow it's the best smell I've ever smelt.
"You going to kiss me then or do I have to do it?" She whispers.
My whole body goes stiff, I'm scared that she can feel my heartbeat get faster somehow. "I – uh, I've got a girlfriend and you've got a boyfriend."
"But I like you." She whispers into my ear, her lips brushing against my ear a bit which sends shivers throughout my entire body.
"You're dating my cousin," I say back to her.
"But he's not the Weasley I want to be dating."
It gets quiet between us again, the tension is unbelievable. "Hannah... you're drunk."
"So are you."
Then she kisses me. It's soft at first but then she puts her tongue in my mouth, and it feels like I've lost all feeling in my body. Never, not once has a kiss with Poppy felt like this, felt this good. I sit up in the chair a bit and Hanna moves so she's straddling my lap, our lips never leaving one another. I put my hands on her waist, rather close to her ass but I move them up higher almost instantly.
Hannah groans into my lips and pulls away from me. I feel empty without her lips on mine. Like I'm hungry for her.
"Don't be shy Freddie." She sighs, "Touch anything you want, I don't mind." She kisses me again and grinds her hips into mine, my breath hitches which makes her laugh a little into my mouth.
This is not going to end well.
