Chapter 1.9 Shen Qi
"First brother, Shen Qi is sorry for being late." A melodious silky voice apologized.
All brothers looked at one direction as if they had practiced it a hundred of times, they looked at the same direction at the same time.
A figure of a woman slowly walked out of the door, her white robes fluttered in the wind as if it were dancing. Her hairpins made a jingling sound as she took a step, a playful smile were laced on her pinkish petal like lips and her pretty blue eyes were curved into crescents. A beauty that could cause a nations downfall stood there in front of them, everyone held their breaths as the beauty stood in front of them.
"Brother's, you all look like a fish out of the water. Please close your mouth if you don't want a fly to enter your mouth." Shen Qi was amused seeing her brothers shocked looked and could not help but giggle seeing their stupefied face.
"S-Shen Qi, is that you?" The first one to snap out from their trance was her Fifth brother who then muttered nonsense.
"Fifth brother, you've been away for far way too long. You now don't even recognize your sister, Shen Qi." Shen Qi pouted acting spoiled.
Since she can't OOC that much she can only act her way through this story, the real Shen Qi is closed to this Fifth brother of hers even before she and Mu Xuan fought. They became even closer when she and Mu Xuan fought, he was the second of her brother's that spoiled her rotten other than Mu Xuan so the original Shen Qi really likes him so much.
Shen Qi run towards her Fifth brother and hug his arms while acting spoiled and coquettish.
"Fifth brother, where is Shen Qi's gift? Fifth brother said that he will bring Shen Qi gifts when he comes back from one of his journeys, where is it?" Shen Qi asked with sparkling eyes.
"You little goblin, is that all you needed from this Fifth brother of yours?" The Fifth Prince ruffled Shen Qi's hair while laughing.
"Of course, what use are you other than giving your sister, Shen Qi gifts?" Shen Qi playfully said while smiling.
The others laughed hearing the conversation between the two siblings, on the other hand one person was fuming seeing how close the two were.
"You!" The Fifth Prince ruffled her hair even faster messing her hair a little.
"Fifth brother, stop! Your messing my hair, stop already! Alright, Shen Qi admits defeat. Shen Qi also misses brother so stop it already!" Shen Qi covered her hair with both of her hand to protect it from her Fifth brother's demonic claws.
"Now, that's what this Fifth Prince wanted to hear. Here, why would I dare forget my little goblins gift in the entire world. Fifth brother could forget everything but not Fifth brother's gift for little goblin." The Fifth Prince handed a box to Shen Qi who gladly took it and beamed when she saw a compact mirror made with metal and inlaid with different colored gems.
"Wow, thank you Fifth brother! Shen Qi likes it a lot!" Shen Qi hugged her Fifth brother into a tight hug.
"I knew that my little goblin would like my present." The Fifth Prince also hugged Shen Qi back before letting go.
"So, does Fifth brother also have a gift for us?" The Fourth Prince asked.
The Fifth Prince grinned as he looked at all his brothers and said. "This Fifth Prince already said that, I could forget anything else in the world but not my little goblins gift. In short, I don't have gifts for everyone........" The Fifth Prince smiled.
The other brother's mouth twitched, they cursed their Fifth brother inside their heart and could not help but want to beat him up into a pulp!
"Hahaha.... Brother's, stop fighting now and let's have dinner. The food is going to get cold soon." The Emperor said.
The dinner passed without anymore setbacks and ended quite quickly in silence, since the brothers were all having a deadly staring contest. Shen Qi did not even know why the dinner became a silent battlefield between her brothers, maybe because of the Fifth Prince who continued on smiling even when being stared holes by the others.
Shen Qi only smiled seeing how childish her brothers are, also she was enjoying someone's jealous look out of the corner of her eyes.
"Then, I'll be going first brothers."
Shen Qi decided to go first since it was already late; her brothers were still going on with the feast as they drink to their hearts content. Some of her brothers had already passed out because of drinking too much barrels of wine; she can only shake her head and left them to their own devices.
When she opened her door to her room, a gust of air that smelled of wine greeted her. She frowned and silently step in, what she saw on her bed was a man whose body was spread on all fours. His snow white hair scattered like falls on her bed, his black robes a little open revealing his toned chest and his silver mask was already hanging off his face about to fall off. The light from the moon gave an ethereal glow to the man who was currently occupying her bed, his beauty could cause a nations downfall.
"Third brother, I know you're awake. What are you doing in my room?" Shen Qi coldly smiled but deep down she was shamelessly drooling over his body.
"Shen'er, why don't you help your "brother" up?" Mu Xuan said fluttering his eyes open; his ruby red eyes looked at Shen Qi dangerously.
"Third brother, you're drunk." Shen Qi said the question more like a statement since she could see how drunk he is, dangerously drunk.
"Your Third "brother" is not drunk, come help your "brother" up." Mu Xuan said once again still staring at Shen Qi.
Shen Qi frowned and hesitated, she knew that a drunken person could not be reasoned out and Mu Xuan in this very moment is drunk.
"Shen'er, won't you help "brother" up?" Mu Xuan said again, his eyes narrowed even more dangerously.
Shen Qi still did not move from her spot and only look at Mu Xuan expressionless, but deep down she wanted to just go and run to his arms but she can't if Mu Xuan is like this.
"Shen'er, help brother up won't you?" This time Mu Xuan's expression became gentler and his voice smoother but still Shen Qi did not move.
Seeing her unmoved, Mu Xuan could only helplessly close his eyes. He knew that she was afraid of him, afraid to even go near him. He knew how dangerous he is himself and even moments ago, if Shen Qi did help him up moments ago he would have his rationality snapped and he would have done something that could never be forgiven even if he died a thousand deaths.
Mu Xuan sighed and wryly smiled, he was about to just forget all about it and let it go. Maybe go to the borders and pass his time there until maybe, his dead. When suddenly a warm soft hand held his shoulders and arms helping him up, he quickly opened his eyes and surprise could be seen on it.
Shen Qi, his Shen'er is sitting beside him as she supported him up, she was not saying anything or even a sign of a smile but he knew she was worried for his sake.
"His Shen'er was worried about him, his Shen'er still cared for him!"
His heart warmed and could not help but bring her to his embrace, he tightly hug her as he missed her so much that it hurts, his heart hurts when he think of her.
Shen Qi was taken aback when she was suddenly brought into a tight hug, she helplessly smiled and also hug him back.
"Shen'er, brother is, brother is sorry. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." Mu Xuan said repeatedly as he continued to hug her.
He had already decided that from now on he will be just her brother, he will no longer bother her about his feelings, he will no longer pursuit her and most of all even though it hurts, he will no longer love her.
As long as she looks at him, as long as she cares for him, love him even just as a brother he will be satisfied.
He does not want to be greedy anymore and only continue on hurting her; he won't be selfish any longer and set her free.
