WELL, ILL BE DARNED
IM ALIVE?!
Btw this is in a new POV so tell me how you like it. I'm using 'me/my/I' instead of 'you/your' , And I'll most likely go back to my old customs, but I'm experimenting.
Ever since I came up in that box, everything had changed.
I mean, most of the boys tried to gain my attention and awe into my heart, but mostly because I was the first girl to arrive.
After several days of training, laughter, job finding, and flirting...I was placed as a Runner.
Gally seemed quite upset about this, but did that stop me from doing absolutely whatever I could to annoy him?
Aha...nah.
I, along with Minho and Thomas, ran between the mazes walls, sweating and undetermined.
Once again, we had returned with nothing new.
"I'm done for the day, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Minho sighed, wiping his shirt across his face.
I gave a sympathetic smile, and Thomas nodded, entertaining his sweating hands with mine.
I couldn't help but smile, looking up at him.
"Thomas, I love when you hold my hand, but right now isn't the best time to-"
He removed his hands from mine and instead placed his arm around my shoulders.
Rolling my eyes, a smile on my face, I allowed him to direct me to a hammock that hung from two trees.
As we both relaxed into it, the sounds of the maze shifting from around us, I sighed.
"We're never going to find our way out of here." I whispered, "Are we?"
Thomas tightened his hold around me, pulling me so my head rested on his shoulder, his head over mine.
"I'm going to find a way out of here. We're going to find a way out of here." He told me, his eyes narrowed in determination.
Biting my lip, looking at the tall, stoned walls, I nodded.
We sat in silence for a while. Enjoying the warmth we both gave each other in the chilly evening, both in deep thought.
"What do you think is out there?" I finally said, changing my gaze to the brunette boy.
"A future." He smiled, "A future for both of us. A future for all the boys. We won't need to risk our lives everyday just so that we can actually get out of this hell."
I closed my eyes, "That sounds nice."
We both laughed, meeting each other's gazes with a bright smile.
If only we'd know how wrong we'd been...
The blinding light and sandy air was enough to make everyone stumble uncontrollably.
"Thomas." I croaked, grasping the forearm of my boyfriend.
No words came from his opened mouth, so he hugged me to him, stumbling down the steep, sandy hill.
Men urged us onto a helicopter, and then you sat onto a seat inside the contraption.
Everyone was quiet, and I squeezed my eyes closed before looking at Thomas.
Thomas moved a wooden carving in his hands, and so badly I wished I could say something. Anything.
Everything else was a blur. I barley remember what had happened the past weeks.
I remember meeting others whom had been in mazes of their own, in which they escaped too.
I made friends, I was happy...but Thomas never strayed from being alert and cautious.
Which worried me.
Yada yada, crazy shit happened and a group of boys and I escaped into this deserted place called the scorch with these crazy things called Cranks that want to kill anything that moves.
Sounds legit, right?
Wrong.
I thought I'd have a future. A future with Thomas. A future with the boys. But I've lost so many of them.
It felt as if the gods were just playing our strings.
You and Thomas were setting up a place to sleep for the night. You were in an abandoned mall. (Muhehahahhahaha) The others had gone to look for supply.
When you finished, you laid next to Thomas, your head on his chest, his hands roaming your hair.
"Do you think they'll find anything?" You asked, looking up at the brunette.
He shrugged, his eyes glued on the ceiling.
You pursed your lips at his lack of response.
"Do you think..."
"Stop with the small talk, (Y/n)." He said harshly, his eyes narrowing as he glared into nothingness.
You sat up, scoffing, "What else should I talk about? I can't talk about a future, I'm not even sure if we'll have one. I can't talk about us, because I'm not sure how long that'll last."
He sat up to, ready to shot back a comment, but softening at your words.
"What do you mean you're not sure how long we'll last?"
You sighed wearily, trying to keep your voice from cracking, "Have you seen what we're going through? I don't want to act as if this will all end. As if we actually could find a way to live a normal life." You began rambling, your eyes watering at the thoughts of not being able to do anything but keep yourself alive. "I'm scared that if I worry about a relationship, I won't see the reality in which fantasy's don't exist. I which-"
You were cut off by a pair of soft lips colliding with yours.
Some how, in the cold world you were in, his lips were still as warm as they were in the glades.
You sighed, placing your arms on the back of his neck and pulling him closer to you, and he placed you against the old towels you had found for your camp out.
His hands crawled under your shirt, drawing circles on your skin which caused shivers to crawl down your spine.
You arched your back upwards, wrapping your legs around his torso, cradling his form.
You pulled away slightly, trying to control your harsh breathes.
"It's been a while, hasn't it?" Thomas smirked, his lips landing on a patch of skin on your neck.
Just as he started placing bites and kisses down to your collar bone, hundreds of loud screeches and moans could be heard throughout the building you were in.
You pushed your self from your boyfriend, gathering all you could hold as your friends ran back to where you were.
You looked at Thomas, whom have an annoyed glare, "What the hell was that?"
Minho shoved the two of you towards the exit, "Shut up and run."
A/n- holy shnitzel did it feel good to write this...it's been so long oh god I've missed it.
