The end of the year fashion show is in a couple of weeks and I am super stressed out. I want this to turn out well so I'm extra cranky and mean. I literally snap at everyone who doesn't do their job right. Today was the meeting to see how everything is going.
"Thank you everyone for coming, now let's get down to business, how are the designs going?" I ask Anna my design aid. "We are having trouble with some of the designs, the fabrics haven't come in.." I interrupt her. "What do you mean haven't come in?" I yell out. She closes her eyes. "Umm one collection is done, would you like to see that?" She says scared as can be. "I would like that." She nods. "Ok dismissed Anna." I say and shoo her away. I look over at Killian and he shakes his head. I scoff. "Ok have our top guests confirmed their presence at the show?" I ask Aaron. He shakes his head. "I'm sorry I'm really struggling to get a hold of them." I close my eyes and took a deep breath. "Why do you think you're getting paid for Aaron, now go and do your damn job!" I say and scoff. "Once I get confirmation, I'll let you know boss." I nod. He walks away. "Ok Martha, how is publicity going for the show, the press?" She smiles. "Perfect, many networks have promoted it and the institution is getting so much publicity it's amazing." I smile. "Thank you Martha, I really appreciate it." She smiles and nods. "Expenses, how are we?" I ask Joe. He smiles. "We are still on budget boss." I smile and nod. I continue to ask the people and the meeting ends. I sigh as I take a deep breath. "I swear half of these people are idiots." I say. I look over at Killian who is writing on my agenda and shakes his head. "What's the matter with you?" He says and I scoff. "What do you mean?" He sighs and sits down. "You're really mean to your employees, I mean I get that it's a tough job but come on Emma." I scoff. "It's Ms Swan, Killian and anyways this is how I am, if you don't like it there's the door." I say and he sighs. "Why is it that you're mean to everyone yet most of the time when we are alone you're a sweet woman, why is that?" I scoff. "That is none of your business Mr Jones, how about we go and check on the designs?" He shakes his head and nods. I get up and he grabs my arm. "Try to be a little nicer, these people are here because they love their job and you're making it harder for them." I chuckle as I sit down. "Well life is hard, you don't get through with life by having everything handed to you. They need to know that only working hard gets you ahead in life." He sighs as he sits down. "Oh Emma, fine then if you want to be mean then be mean with me not your employees." He says and I scoff. "Why are you so worried about me being nice and all that?" "Because this isn't you Emma, even though we've only known each other for a couple of months, you are an open book, I can read you so well." I lift my eyebrow. "Is that so?" He leans in closer to me and nods. "Yes Ms Swan." He says and starts to caress my cheek. I couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous blue eyes. We were about an inch apart and I could feel his breath. I could tell he wanted to kiss me as much as I wanted to kiss him. I closed my eyes and that's when the realization hit me. Im feeling vulnerable and that is simply not acceptable. I get up and I scoff. "Next time you try to seduce me mister Jones I will notify HR and you will be without a job you hear me?" He shakes his head and chuckles. He gets up and bows. "As the lady desires." He says in a sarcastic tone. I scoff. We start to make our way downstairs to check out the designs for the show.
As I'm walking I couldn't help but feel bad for treating Killian like that. I hate this, I mean I am attracted to him but I can't be vulnerable. I can't fall in love again, I can't get hurt. I wouldn't be able to handle it again. I know he means well but this is who I became and I wouldn't want to change it just because I might be in love with my intern.
We get to the runway and I see Anna there. "Anna are you ready?" She nods. Killian and I sit down as the girls start to walk on to the runway and show off the designs. I shake my head. "They are wrong, all wrong." I say under my breath. I get up. "No Anna, this design needs to be a little higher on the hem, for this dress the slit is to low.." I yell out and I look at Killian and he shakes his head. I close my eyes and nod. "I'm sorry Anna, I've just been stressed out, you're doing a good job just go over these little things again." She smiles then nods. "I will get right to it." I smile. "Thanks." I say. "Thank you girls, you all look beautiful." They all nod and walk away. I just stood there a little baffled but calm. I turn around and look at Killian and he smiles. "Now was it that bad?" I smile. "What was?" "To be nice and be thankful?" I smile. "No it felt good." He smiles. "See what did I tell you, you're a sweet woman." I couldn't help but smile. "How about we go out for lunch and discuss more details about the show." I nod. "Sushi?" He asks and smiles. "You know me oh so well Killian." He smiles and nods.
