Y/N Pov.

Clementine and I run over to Kenny and give him a hug as he does the same back. We hold the hug for a few seconds before letting go; he looks at the same amount of surprised as we are at the realization that he's alive. The man in the back who's wearing a sweater and seems like nice guy speaks up.

Guy: I'll take that as a yes.

Kenny looks at the others behind us before kneeling down in front of us.

Kenny: These people with you?

Y/n: (Nods) Yeah, they're alright.

Kenny stands back up.

Kenny: We can talk inside.

Guy: Great. I just started dinner.

Carlos: Are you sure you don't mind?

Guy: It's gonna storm soon. Please, come in.

The group starts to walk to the front of the lodge. Ahead of the others, the guy, Clem, Kenny, and I enter first and inside is simply breathtaking. Clementine and I look around at the lights that are covering parts of the lodge; there's even a Christmas Tree up. Clem looks at me & nods to it, but I had already seen it.

Y/n: (Grins) I know, I know. This place reminds me of...

Clementine: Before.

Y/n: Yeah, before.

I keep looking around and notice some flags from different countries are hanging up all over and there's a music player nearby. While I'm not sure if it's still functional I'd be happy it if was. There hasn't exactly been a lot of time to for me to find them out there, unfortunately. Clementine and I follow Kenny and his friend as they tell us about the lodge.

Guy: Kenny and Sarita have been staying with us for several weeks.

He walks ahead of us as Kenny stays beside us.

Guy: Used to be a ski lodge, obviously, so we have plenty of food. And believe it or not, we still get some power from that wind turbine out front. We tend to keep most of the lights off at night to avoid drawing attention. But after we found this stuff in storage, we couldn't resist making an exception.

Kenny mimes to us that his friend is talking too much, and we quietly laugh as he looks back with a little confusion.

Guy: What's so funny?

Kenny: Oh, nothing, Walt. Walter here is one smart son of a bitch.

Kenny walks up to Walter and pats his back.

Kenny: Makes a mean can of beans too.

Y/n: Sounds great.

Walter: Well, why don't you three catch up while I get some dinner started?

I look at Clem.

Y/n: Sound like a plan?

Clementine: Yes.

As we go to walk away with Kenny, we hear the door open as Nick, Luke, Rebecca, and Alvin enter the lodge. I notice them looking around with a mixture of amazement and shock as it probably has been awhile since they've been in some place like this. A place that actually is more like the old world before it got so fucked up. While they look around at the place I look at Clementine.

Y/n: What do you think?

Clementine: I think this is crazy. I thought you said he was dead.

Y/n: Well after went into that hole, I thought he was. As you know, we never saw him again after that.

Clementine: Until now.

Y/n: Yep. I honestly thought that was the last time I'd ever see him. Like you said, it's crazy.

I notice Walter look over to the others and he tells them to make themselves at home, however they're still skeptical. Nick still has his hand on his rifle, the same one he used to shoot that guy in the face with. Rebecca is still being moody and the tone in her voice is easily a not so nice one.

Walter: Please, make yourselves at home. You can leave your things over there.

Rebecca: The hell we will.

Nick: Yeah, I'm holding onto my rifle, thanks.

Walter: You're our guests here. There's no need to worry.

Nick looks at Kenny.

Nick: Tell him to put his gun down, then.

Walter turns to him.

Walter: Kenny?

I see Kenny look towards Nick and the group before turning to us, asking if we'd vouch for the group.

Kenny: Will you vouch for these people, kids? If you tell me they're good, then I'm good.

Nick: Us? You were the one waving a gun around, man.

Y/n: Don't start that, Nick. You are the last person who can talk about waving guns around.

Nick looks away and Luke looks at Kenny.

Luke: We're cool, okay? Hey, hey, we're cool, we're cool.

Kenny: Clementine? Y/n?

Clementine: They're cool. Right, Y/n?

Y/n: (Nods) Yeah, they're fine for the most part. However, I'd watch out for Nick. He's not a bad guy, just very jumpy with a rifle if you know what I mean.

Kenny nods and back to the doors, I hear them open again. I look toward them and find Sarah walking in with Carlos and Sarita. Or at least who I assume is Sarita after Walter said her name and there doesn't seem to be another woman here.

Sarah: Dad, look! A Christmas tree!

Carlos: Not now, Sarah.

Sarita: Isn't it great? We found it all in storage.

Sarah: It's amazing.

I notice Kenny and Sarita exchange glances. Kenny walks down the steps and set his weapon down in the foyer, and the cabin group follows suit. Clementine also puts her backpack down whereas I just place my guitar down there.

Sarita: Good. If you'll all follow me, I'll show you where you can sleep.

While Sarita goes to show the others where to go, Clementine, Kenny, and I sit on the couch near the fireplace as Sarita leads the rest of the group upstairs. The fire flickers and Clementine sits by me as Kenny sits beside us. Kenny reaches out and taps our hats as he looks at us like looking at ghosts.

Kenny: Still wearing these dirty old things, huh? You know, I half-expected to see Lee walk up next to you. You guys were like three peas in a pod.

Clementine looks down and I grab her hand as Kenny quickly goes to apologize.

Kenny: Oh, shit, I didn't mean to... It's just hard not to think about it, you know?

Y/n: It's alright, Kenny. Not your fault, but it's still kind of a sore subject.

Clementine: He and Y/n saved me.

Kenny: I knew it. I knew they would. Lee had a fire in him, sure as shit. Hell... He was a hell of a guy. When my son... well, he took care of him. I'll never forget that.

There's a short pause for a moment and Kenny looks at me.

Kenny: Did you do it? Did you put that bastard on a one way trip to hell?

I don't say anything and simply nod. Just thinking about that bastard who kidnapped Clem is enough to get my blood boiling, so it's best if I don't. Kenny looks at us, asking us where we'd gone after.

Kenny: So. Where'd you two end up?

Clementine: After Lee, we were alone. We found the others, but... it didn't last. Christa and Omid are gone now.

Y/n: And we don't even know where Molly or Carley is. It's just been us for a little while.

Kenny: Sounds like it ain't been easy for you two. I'm sorry, kids. I wish I could've found you sooner. But everything's gonna be fine now.

Clementine: We hope so.

Clementine leans her head against my shoulder and I notice Kenny smile at us. He turns to me.

Kenny: So, judging by the looks of things you two seem to have gotten real close. Did you finally seal the deal?

Clementine's face blushes a little, but I smile back to Kenny.

Y/n: Yep. We're finally dating. Took two years, but...yeah.

Kenny: Well hot damn, I'm glad to hear it. Y'know, we all knew you'd end up together. Whenever we were back at the motor inn and Katjaa saw you guys together, she always said you'd end up being a pair.

Clementine: Really?

Kenny: (Nods) Yep. Even as just kids, you two were super close. It's nice to see something as normal as young love after all this crazy shit.

We nod to Kenny and ask about him.

Y/n: So what about you?

Clementine: Where have you been all this time?

Kenny: Oh, hell, all over, after Savannah.

Y/n: How did you make it out of there? From my position... It didn't look good at all. I still haven't told Clementine the whole story. Not because I didn't want to, but because I didn't want to bring you up after I thought you'd died.

Kenny looks down for a moment.

Kenny: Christa got in a hell of a mess. I gave her a hand, and then it got messier. For a minute there, it wasn't looking too good for old Kenny. Long story short, I got lucky. Real lucky. Spent a long time alone after that.

Suddenly, I see Kenny stop for a moment and he smiles. He stands up and I look at Clementine, confused, as he walks away. He leaves for a minute before coming back with something clearly behind his back.

Y/n: Kenny?

Kenny: Y'know, after I jumped down into that hole I almost got a few chunks taken out of me. Even after I ran out of bullets I was still able to fight back those damn walkers thanks to you.

Y/n: And?

Kenny grins, pulling his hand out from his back and in it is...my baseball bat.

Kenny: And I think I got something that still belongs to you.

Clementine and I look at that bat with surprise before I stand back up and take it. I wrap my hand around my old baseball bat and as I hold it I can still see some old scorch marks on the end.

Y/n: Holy shit. Thanks Kenny.

Kenny: (Grins) No problem. After awhile there, when I was alone, I thought I had gone crazy and just dreamt everything up about you and the others. But every time I saw the baseball bat, there was always the memory of you using that baseball bat to cleave through walkers. Crazy enough, it kept my sane before I met Sarita.

I take a step back and grip the bat, lighting it on fire as Clementine and Kenny look at me. I give it a good swing and it feels like it had never left my hands. I should really thank my uncle for all the lessons in baseball. After another swing, I un-ignite it & look at Clementine who also looks pretty right now.

Clementine: It feels like forever since I've seen you like that. It's great.

Y/n: Damn right.

Kenny: Gosh, it's great to have you two back.

Y/n: It feels great to be back, Kenny.

Sarita: You three catching up?

All three of us turn and find that Sarita, the woman from earlier, was standing near. I believe she's of indian descent and she sounds like a really sweet woman. Similar to how my mother was. Kenny is quick to march over to her, almost giddy, as he introduces her to us for the first time.

Kenny: Clem, Y/n, this is my girl, Sarita. Ain't she beautiful?

Sarita: Nice to meet you, Clementine, Y/n.

Y/n: It's nice to meet you, too, Sarita.

Walter walks by and Kenny calls out to him.

Kenny: Hey, Walt, where's Matthew? He still out there rooting around?

Walter: Of course he is. Well, I'll start dinner.

Walter heads to the kitchen and I notice that the rest of the group enters the living room from upstairs. Sarita walks over to them and asks Carlos if she can borrow Sarah for a "mission" or whatever it is they're doing. Carlos looks at Sarah.

Carlos: Stay in sight, sweetie.

Sarita walks over to the tree with Sarah while Luke asks if he and Nick can do anything.

Luke: Can we do anything to help?

Kenny stands up.

Kenny: Could use a hand outside. We got a lotta supplies we need to bring in before that storm hits.

Luke: Sure.

Kenny: Kids, why don't you help Walt with dinner?

Y/n: Sure, you got it.

I look at Clem and hold my hand out to her. She grabs it and I pull her up off the couch while the others walk away to go do there things. It leaves me and Clem alone together at last, at least for now. I grab her hand and talk to her as we walk toward the kitchen where Walter is cooking the food.
