Demonic Ragdoll

Y/N

You loved your seasonal job working as an actor in a haunted house attraction. You were a demonic ragdoll who sat in the kid's playroom and jumped out at unexpected guests. Tonight was no different, the attraction had been busy and all the actors were rushed off their feet. So the second you were offered a short break you took it.

However before you could light up out back you felt something tug on the hem of your dress, looking down you come face to face with a little girl who couldn't have been much older than five. She was wearing a witch costume and had really rosy cheeks, there were no other adults around yet she didn't look scared to be in this place.

"Err can I help you kid? Are you lost?"

She nodded.

"I wost my uncle Joshy."

Her bottom lip started to tremble and you knew the waterworks were about to go off if you didn't do something. Crouching down to her height you smile and squeeze her hand.

"Would you like me to help you find him?"

"Wes please ragdoll."

She made an up motion with her hands and you couldn't help but laugh as you picked her up and balanced her on your hip.

"Doesn't my appearance scare you? Err...what's your name kid?"

"Lily and no, Joshy is in a band."

You carry the girl back through the haunted house and wonder how she could be so talkative to a stranger.

"Which band Lily?"

"Wotionless In White."

You were a fan of Motionless In White and had been unable to see them this tour due to work. Now you understood why the fake blood and black contacts didn't scare Lily, Josh never seemed to take his contacts out and the whole band looked like they were permanently trapped in Halloween mode which was one of the things you liked about them.

Once outside the front of the house, you start to scan the crowd along with Lily. And after a couple of minutes, Lily starts to squirm in your arms as the crowd parts.

JOSH

I was dead, how could I lose Lily? One second she was holding my hand and the next she wasn't. All the bad thoughts crossed my mind and I decided to wait outside for a few minutes before I set off the panic alarms. I was pacing up and down on the spot when I heard Lily's familiar high pitched voice.

"UNCLE JOSHY!"

"Lily."

Lilly squirmed out of the girl's arms before the girl laughed and put her down. Lily ran over to me and I picked her up before cuddling her tight. I never would have heard the last of it if I let something bad happen to her.

"Don't ever let go of my hand again Lily."

She nodded timidly before motioning towards the girl who had been carrying her. I took in her appearance and remembered her from one of the rooms in the haunted house, her costume and makeup were amazing and she wore black contacts like I did. She was easy on the eyes which wasn't a bad thing either, or maybe I'd been single for too long.

"Hi, so you're uncle Joshy? I couldn't let her walk around on her own with all these crowds. She's a great kid, not many little girls like gore and horror."

"She's one of a kind, er..."

"y/n."

y/n was a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. And before I could respond to her Lily tugged on my arm and smiled mischievously.

"y/n the ragdoll is my new wriend, can she get food with us Joshy?"

y/n laughed and I shook my head.

"y/n's working Lily unless you're nearly done."

I secretly hoped that y/n was free because I wanted to get to know her more and thank her for keeping an eye on Lily.

"I actually get off my shift in twenty minutes. I could meet you two afterwards."

We exchanged numbers and y/n went back off to work to finish her shift. Lily clapped her hands together.

"Me a matchmaker Joshy."

I rolled my eyes at Lily before tickling her, she'd been playing matchmaker since I became single. Maybe y/n could be the one, unlike some of the girls Lily liked the looks of.
