As a guest brought back by the Count himself, and with anyone who could see the Count's obvious care for her, the maids sent to look after Wei Wei were naturally very attentive. They were eager to help her with anything she needed and provided her with as much information as they could.

The two maids, having worked in the castle for many years, were quite knowledgeable about the castle and the Williams family, though not so much about the outside world. Therefore, most of the information they shared with Wei Wei pertained to the castle and its inhabitants.

When Felix introduced Wei Wei to the castle, he naturally didn't mention his personal sorrows. Wei Wei learned from the maids that Felix had inherited the Williams family title after his father and brother passed away from illness, making him the new earl.

The Williams family was quite small, consisting of only three members. In addition to Felix and his sister Dolores, whom Wei Wei had already met, there was also a young child under the age of two, the daughter of Felix's late brother.

"Miss Caroline is a premature baby. Her health is very poor. She doesn't leave the room. It's Mrs. Nancy who takes care of her."

Wei Wei was curious about who Mrs. Nancy was. They explained that Mrs. Nancy was the wife of the housekeeper, Patton. Her daily duties included supervising all the maids and attending to the hostess, effectively acting as a housekeeper herself.

However, the two generations of mistresses in the Williams family had passed away very early, so Mrs. Nancy spent most of her time taking care of the two young ladies.

Speaking of this, Penny sighed with emotion. The previous countess had died in childbirth while giving birth to Dolores, which led the old count, who had been very close to his wife, to dislike Miss Dolores.

"Mrs. Pena also died shortly after giving birth to Miss Caroline. If Master Eric were still alive, maybe Miss Caroline..."

Seeing that Penny was getting carried away, Qin reached out and patted her, giving her a warning look.

Only then did Penny realize what she had said, and she shivered, shutting her mouth and not daring to say any more.

Wei Wei, who was lying down for a massage, didn't notice the little gestures between them and only sighed in her heart about how difficult childbirth was during this time.

The massage time passed quickly. Wei Wei enjoyed their service comfortably, got dressed, and went back to her room.

The servants in the castle were indeed very conscientious. During the time she was downstairs, the room had not only been cleaned but also filled with some new items. The nightgown, she noticed, seemed to be Dolores's length.

She had learned from the maids that Dolores was younger than she initially thought, only twelve years old. Dolores's body appeared to be that of a sixteen-year-old, but her face still had the general look of a child. Wei Wei couldn't help but think that Orientals tend to look younger while Westerners appear more mature at a younger age.

Rejecting the maid's offer to help her change, Wei Wei was preparing to rest when Qin informed her that Butler Patton had arranged for a tailor to visit the castle the next afternoon to make custom clothes for her. Wei Wei expressed her gratitude.

As she was about to close the door, she suddenly remembered something and turned to Qin and Penny. "Do you need to keep a vigil at the door at night?"

Qin replied, "Yes, Penny and I will take turns keeping vigil."

Wei Wei shook her head. "No, I sleep soundly at night. You don't need to stay outside. Just come and wake me in the morning. You can go rest now."

The two maids looked at each other, surprised. They had never met a noble who didn't require a night watch. "Miss Wei Wei, a night watch is what we should do."
