You woke up to the sound of your alarm going off loudly. You rolled over and flicked it off before pulling the covers away and stepping onto the cold floor. "Another day in hell.." You thought as you started to get ready for school. You'd been battling depression and anxiety for over 6 months and it was slowly starting to get the best of you, despite your urge to fight it. School didn't help. You were getting bullied and suicide had become one of many options. You headed out the door and boarded the school bus, only to find that there were no seats available. You stood on the side and leaned against the wall of the bus. You put in your earphones and blasted your music to block out the sound of all the insults that people said behind your back - just loud enough for you to hear. The bus got to school and you made your way to class. You sat in the corner of the room minding your own business but every now and then, bullies would come up to you and stick their gum underneath your table. You took out your pocket knife and scraped it off, before discarding it in the bin. You sighed as you ran the blade of the knife lightly across your finger, careful not to draw blood. "Why am I even here?" You thought. Your thoughts were interrupted when the teacher came in. You quickly put away your pocket knife and directed your attention to the front of the class. The teacher introduced a new student. His name was Jung Hoseok who was assigned a seat next to you. He seemed overly happy, a smile plastered to his face and all his textbooks neatly stacked up to one side of his desk. You avoided his gaze yet he seemed to stare at you a lot, time to time. "Hey what's your name?" He asked quietly. "(Y/N).." You mumbled. "That's a nice name." He said. You gave him a fake smile, yet you knew everyone would be able to see through it. You continued your work until a piece of paper landed on your desk. You opened it to see a list of words that you knew all too well:
Nerd
Ugly
Fat
Stupid
Dumb
Worthless
Fake
Waste of space
Kill yourself already!
You crumpled up the piece of paper and got up to throw it in the bin, yet someone stopped you. It was Hoseok. "C-can I see that?" He stuttered nervously. You were confused, but obliged anyway and handed him the paper. Hoseok took a minute to read the words before moving his chair and desk closer to yours. "I know I'm new here but I can assure you that you're not any of these things. People are just jealous that they aren't as pretty or as smart as you. Don't let these bring you down because you're so much stronger than that." Hoseok explained. At this stage all the emotions that you had kept inside poured out of you and you burst into tears. Hoseok pulled you in for a hug and you buried your face in his chest. Crying. The bell eventually rang and Hoseok picked up your books as well as his, shoving them in his locker which just so happened to be next to yours. Your tears didn't stop flowing but Hoseok gave you his hat to cover your face as he led you up to the rooftop. Once you got there, you sat on the bench and Hoseok kneeled in front of you. "It's okay (Y/N). I'm here for you." Hoseok said. You wiped away your tears and gave him a big hug. "You're not alone, as long as I'm here." He explained before kissing your forehead lightly. For the first time in your 6 months of depression you felt a warm feeling in your heart. You looked up at Hoseok and realised that you needed him and that you wanted him to stay with you. "Thank you" You mumbled before kissing him on the cheek. Hoseok turned red and you laughed as he fanned himself with his hands. Hoseok smiled and hugged you tighter. You smiled and hugged him back. You finally found a way out of all your negative depression thoughts.
It was Hoseok.
Hoseok was your happiness.
