Roxanne didn't understand why her heart was beating uncontrollably right now. Max was sitting next to her outside, as alone as they could be at a party. She intertwined her fingers together, not knowing where to start.

"I was a jerk and I apologize." Max said, breaking their silence. She could feel his eyes on her, but at this moment she didn't want to turn to look at him. She was filled with so many emotions she couldn't understand. What did she really want him to apologize for?

"Max. I understand. It's okay." She said forcing a smile.

"Look at me and say it's okay." Max said. So she did.

"Roxy, I want us to start over." He said

"Start over? What do you mean?" She could feel her heartbeat behind her ears. They were pounding.

"As- as friends I mean." She was able to take a breath again, not knowing she had been holding it in the whole time.

"About earlier, I guess I was jealous. Bradley is-was- I don't even know what Bradley is to me anymore.. I just know we were rivals and it got to me how close you guys are. And it didn't help at all that I couldn't compete. I'm sorry. I should have never said what I did."

"Max, thanks. I know you're sorry and I'm okay with it. Let's put it behind us." She extended her hand, and he grabbed it. Sparks flew down her arm, and she knew he had felt them too because he let go as quickly as she had.

"Roxanne?"

She looked up and as Stacey waved her over. Behind her was Tony, looking nice in a collard black shirt and jeans.

"Excuse me," she said to Max and got up. She was disappointed that their conversation had ended too soon.

"Let me go with," Max said, using his crutches to stand up. " I have to apologize to Tony too. He didn't take it too well how I treated you."

"Do you need some help?" She asked, feeling bad. He really was trying.

"Nah, I can do it." She heard the hesitation in his voice.

She let him, knowing that it would do no good to argue. They walked together over to Tony, who looked surprised to see them together.

"Hey, Roxanne. Hey, Max." He greeted, clearly confused.

"Tony, man I want to say I'm sorry. I know you have business with Roxanne and I just wanted to say that." Max said.

"If she's good, then we're good." Tony said, a little rougher than he had intended. If Max noticed he didn't show it. Roxanne felt awkward just then, not knowing what to say or do. She had never told Tony about Max.

"I'm good, Max apologized." Roxanne stated, trying to ease the tension she could feel from both guys.

"I hope you'd reconsider being on the team again." Max said, patting Tony on the back. "I'll let you guys talk. I'll see you inside the party. "

"Max?" Tony called out to him as Max made his way back inside. "I honestly don't think I'll be going back to Team99." Roxanne felt him put his arm around her, pushing her towards him. "I barely spend anytime as it is with my girl, and I really don't like it."

Max nodded and said nothing more. Roxanne couldn't help but feel guilty as she watched Max walk away.

Bradley noticed her like magnet. She pulled all his being toward her, even though she herself wasn't aware of the power she had over him.

She looked stunning, he couldn't argue.

"I'm glad you came." he said, handing her a drink.

"Is this alcoholic?" She asked. "I don't drink."

Bradley whistled in surprise. "Another Roxanne I see." He said, setting the glass down. "I apologize. Did you want something else? I know Stacey has some sparkling water somewhere. "

"No, I'm fine. This party is great by the way." She said, feeling uneasy. She didn't know what to say. Sorry I ran out on you because im jealous of your ex-girlfriend? It sounded stupid in her head.

"Not to sound rude but don't you have your own party to be at?" He asked.

"If you call a bunch of people in a pool, then yeah. Don't feel like swimming tonight." She said

"Well, I'm really glad you're here. I wouldn't want you swimming anyways." Bradley said smirking. It gave her butterflies. What was he trying to do? He leaned against the wall, sighing. "About the other night-"

Cora stopped him before he could finish. "Bradley, I'm okay with it. Honestly, it's just that girl I don't trust. She was over at our house just now with Mikolaj."

She didn't know why she had blurted that out. She hadn't meant for it to come out. But part of her really wanted Bradley to know.

Bradley raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She couldn't read his expressions just yet, at least, not all of them. Had she said something wrong?

"I think I'll be heading out now," Max had come over, breaking the silence that had settled.

"So soon, Goof?" Bradley had asked. "The nights just starting. "

"I'm kind of worn out to be honest." Max sighed. He looked over his shoulder. Cora saw Roxanne and Tony in deep conversation.

"Okay, whatever you say Goof." Bradley said. "Glad you stopped by."

"Thanks, and if you see the guys could you let them know I left?"

Bradley nodded. Max waved at her goodbye and she couldn't help but feel that there was more to the story than she knew about.

"Is he okay?" She asked Bradley.

"He's Roxanne's ex." Bradley said softly. "I don't think he's over her."

"Isn't he dating Jasmine?"

Bradley shrugged. "Who knows what's going on with that girl." She noticed him frown a little before taking another sip of his drink. "You will have to excuse me,"

Cora watched him walk away just then, feeling uneasy. Something was not right.

............................................................

Bradley heard him laugh all the way to the bathroom. He couldn't make him go away.

"What's wrong with you? Mingling with the enemy?"

He stared up at the mirror. Evil Bradley was staring back at him, his eyes dark and unblinking.

"This is my party." Bradley said, squeezing the edge of the sink with his good hand.

"Your party? Since when did you ever let anyone throw you, Gamma leader a party? And away from the Gamma house too?" Evil Bradley spat. "This is beyond pathetic!"

"SHUT UP! WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO AWAY?" Bradley yelled.

"Because, as long as you keep lying to yourself about who you are, I'ma be here to remind YOU." Bradley felt a push and he was thrown off guard, falling into the tub. Evil Bradley was standing in front of him, in the flesh.

"You're not real, I slipped, this isn't happening." Bradley said, trying to hold his composure.

"Oh, I'm real Brad. And you better get your shit together. Before I do it for you." And with that Evil Bradley disappeared,  leaving Bradley to ponder in the tub.
