"Doors!" "Go, go, go!" Guards shout as they watch the doors shut. Sebastian grabs Clary by her throat. Alisha quickly kicks his side right below the knife making him drop Clary. The blonde shadowhunter punches Alisha across the face and then slams her head against the corner of the wall making a deep cut form on her forehead, all with the knife still in his side. The hybrid winces and groans on the floor as her vision blurs and her ears ring.
"Open up!" A guard shouts and 'Sebastian' once again grabs Clary but the throat and pulls her up so she can't breathe. 'Sebastian' pulls Clary's dagger out of himself with a loud groan she quickly grabs it but he grips her hand with his free one.
"Are you okay?" A guard shouts as they keep banging on the doors. "Let's go around to the front. The door's jammed."The guards rush to the other side.
"After ten years of torture in Edom, I learned to endure pain." Sebastian spits as he holds the knife near Clary's head. She struggles. "In fact, I rather enjoy it." Clary drops her dagger as she continues to attempt to breathe with 'Sebastian' hand around her throat. She looks at the mirror in his pocket as he places his head next to Clary's.
"I wanted you... and the Mirror. But if I can't have both..." 'Sebastian' begins but Alisha grabs her blade and slashes his leg with it. The shadowhunter winces and kicks Alisha forcefully making her wince and roll over to reveal a pool of blood where her head laid a few seconds ago. The Mirror drops out of his pocket and Clary quickly takes it. She helps Alisha stand up, keeping one of her arms around the girls waist as she draws a rune on the doors that lead to the hall. The glass suddenly explodes and Clary jumps through it, pulling Alisha with her. Guards immediately go to her. 'Sebastian' quickly rushes out of the institute as guards approach him. Clary sits up whilst Alisha lies in the glass. Managing to pull herself up, she sees guards running towards them.
"There they is! In here, right in here!" One says. Alisha's eyes fixate on Jace and Alec who are rushing towards them.
"Alisha! Clary! Are you okay?" He shouts as they both kneel by the two girls.
"Go after him." Alec says to the guards as he helps Alisha stand whilst Jace helps Clary. The hybrid looks up at Alec and see the worried look on his face. Quickly taking out his stele after seeing the cut on her forehead, he activates her iratze. Jace looks at his sister who nods to him as she stands up, secure in Alec's arms.
"Where's Jonathan?" Alec asks the pair.
"I don't know. He got away somehow." Clary says and Jace nods.
"Are you two okay?" He asks and the two nod.
"Yeah." Clary says after looking at Alisha to check she's alright.
"Did he get the Mirror?" Jace questions. Alec continues to hold Alisha, not wanting her hurt just like her brother
"No." Clary states whilst taking out her stele. "And no one is ever going to use it to destroy the Downworld." She starts drawing a rune on the Mirror.
"What are you doing?" Alec asks concerned.
"Nullifying its powers, like I did with the Soul-Sword." She states. When the rune is drawn, it stays there for a second, then the Mirror turns to dust. Alisha looks between them worriedly.
"What just happened?" She questions as they all look at the mirror.
Alisha, Izzy, Magnus, Robert, and Maryse are standing by Max's bedside. Maryse is stroking Max's hair just as Alec enters. The hybrid keeps her distance by standing with Magnus.
"How'd it go? Is he okay?" Alec questions anyone.
"He's okay, Alec." Isabelle smiles slightly and Alec takes Magnus' place by the bed. Max grunts and opens his eyes.
"Did you catch Sebastian?" He says after grunting a bit. Everyone laughs slightly.
"You almost died, and that's what you're concerned about?" Maryse asks and Max smiles slightly.
"I should go. Max, you take care of yourself." Magnus says as he walks out, Alisha quickly following after him.
"Hey." Alisha begins. "Thanks for doing this, I know your still mad at Alec." Magnus nods.
"It wasn't for Alec." Magnus states and then looks behind the hybrid to see Alec standing there. Alisha turns too and sighs turning back to Magnus. "I'll see you later peanut." He says and kisses Alisha's cheek before walking off.
"Thank you so much for being here." He says to Alisha who nods.
"I'm glad Max is okay." She says and looks around. "I have to go." She turns around and begins to leave before Alec stops her.
"I'm sorry. I should have told you about the Soul Sword." Alisha stops walking and turns back around. "I made a mistake. But you and me... we always seem to find our way back to each other. Alisha, I love you." She smiles at him.
"I love you, too." She says making him smile. "But as werewolf, I have to do anything in order to protect my pack from Valentine now that he has two of the mortal instruments. And the only thing holding me back from doing that... is you." She looks down, stepping back. "If you need my help tracking Valentine or Jonathan, I'll gladly help, but I can't, I can't." She repeats.
"No, no." Alec says sadly, not liking what she's saying.
"I can't protect my pack and be by your side Alec." She comments. "I can't have both."
"Yes, you can. We can. We... Alisha, we can figure this out." He says. She shakes her head, tears in her eyes.
"We can't." She says before walking away and towards the elevator. The pair look at each other one last time before the elevator doors close and Alisha begins at to let out her tears, just as Alec does. She rushes out of the institute and towards Jade Wolf. Alec continues to stand there, watching the elevator having some sort of hope that she'll come back and forgive him but that never happens. Izzy walks out of the room to see her brother standing there, tears falling from his eyes.
"Alec?" She asks and her brother turns to face her. Immediately, she knows what happened and quickly wraps her arms around him.
"You'll get her back." She says and Alec shakes her head but she continues. "You will. Don't give up hope."
