In the institute, Alec is laying on a bed in his room. Jocelyn looks at the stone whilst Izzy stands by her brother.
"If Luke's had the stone all along, why didn't he say anything when Jace first went missing?" She asks Jocelyn, confused.
"I'll be honest. There are some serious risks involved." Jocelyn states and Izzy steps forwards.
"What kind of risks?" She questions, worried for her brother.
"The parabatai that initiates the contact... it can be taxing on his body, on his mind." The older shadowhunter says slowly.
"Izzy, it's fine." Alec tries but his little sister shakes her head vigorously.
"I'm not liking the sound of this. Taxing how?" She asks and Jocelyn looks down at the stone.
"We're not sure. Of the few people who have tried it, not many have come back to talk about it." This makes Izzy shake her head even more.
"Forget it. He's not doing it." She says firmly.
"Don't listen to her." Alec states calmly but his sister has other plans.
"No, Alec. I've already lost both parents to Idris and brother and best friend to Valentine. I'm not gonna lose you, too." She says.
"Izzy, you said it yourself. We have no choice." Alec states, repeating her words.
"That was before I knew you can die. No. Get up!" She shouts authoritatively.
"They need me, Iz. And I can't... I can't live without them." Alec stutters and nods at Jocelyn to continue. Izzy sits down next to him, knowing she won't change his mind.
"According to Luke, you need to stay near the surface. If you go too deep, nothing can bring you back." Jocelyn states and Alec nods.
"If you go too deep, by the Angel, Alec, I will kick your ass when you get back." Izzy states making him smile slightly.
"Give me the stone." Jocelyn hands the stone to him and Alec clenches it in his fists, concentrating. Alec sees short memories of him and Jace together.
"Are you sure your okay with this?" Jace asks the hybrid as they walk down an empty street with Jeremy and two other circle members.
