"Yeah, but a family dinner wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I mean, we've, we've been over this. For a Downworlder, depression can be seriously dangerous. What if you end up hurting somebody?" Maia asks.

"My family's all I've got left. I need to feel normal again. You know, even if it's for a few hours." Simon states and then turns to Alisha. "Why aren't you at the institute looking for Valentine?"

"I can't go, alphas orders." Alisha states. "Cant have contact with any shadowhunter whatsoever."

"Why don't you go anyway?" Simon questions, knowing that never stopped her in the past.

"I can't go against Luke Simon, it's like this force pulling me to obey him, if I go against Luke It'll be like in challenging him which will not go down well." Alisha states. "So, I'm stuck here with you two. No offence." She smiles sweetly and the two smile slightly.

After getting ready for his family dinner with the advice from Alisha, Simon locks up his container with Alisha by his side. Just as he locks the containers door, the pair heat a voice behind them making them turn around swiftly.

"Going somewhere?" Maia questuosns, looking at his formal outfit. Simon glances at Maia's answer.

"Are you going somewhere?" Simon questions, looking at Maia's formal dress.

"Yeah, I'm coming with you." Maia states.

"No way." Simon is quick to turn her down. "Look, uh, I really appreciate the offer, but Yom Kippur is not a 'bring your friends' kind of holiday." He explains.

"I wasn't asking." Maia shrugs.

"I mean, I didn't even tell my family I was dating Clary. And like, how would I explain this? 'Hey Mom, meet Maia, a werewolf friend who knows that I turned a guy into dust, and now she's kind of worried I might hurt you, or tell you I'm a vampire or-'" Maia cuts off Simons ramble if whilst Alisha places a hand on his shoulder, shaking her head so he stops talking.

"Okay, look... Just let me come with you." Maia states and Simon thinks about it before sighing in defeat.

"Come on." He says and then hugs Alisha. "See you later."

"Bye guys!" She smiles before walking into Jade wolf in search for her alpha. She spits him sitting in a booth with a beer beside him. She storms over to him, an furious expression on his face.

"I take it your still mad at me." Luke says after seeing her plop down on the chair opposite him with an angry sigh.

"You have separated me from my sister, my brother, my parabatai and my boyfriend. And to top that off, you've taken my phone, which was a bitchy move might I add, so I can't contact them and tell them my dumb father has basically grounded me." Alisha rants and Luke hides his smile.

"Right, I'm sorry, but no one in the downworld is talking to the shadowhunters, not since they lost Valentine." Luke says.

"You seem to forget I'm part shadowhunter." The hybrid says.

"Alisha, don't even try it." Luke says, knowing where this is going.

"Luke they're my family." She says.

"So am I." Luke shrugs.

"So is Clary." She states and is met with silence. "Luke don't make me disobey you, please." She says whilst standing up.

"I'm not letting you go to them." He states, also standing up.

"That's not your choice to make." Alisha says and kicks Luke's stomach making him fall back. Activating her speed runs, she runs out of Jade wolf and towards the institute.

As soon as she gets to the institute , she immediately runs into Izzy and Alec who look at her shocked. Izzy pulls her into a hug first, glad she's okay, before pulling away and slapping her across the face. The hybrid winces.

"I deserve that." She pants, tired from running all the way here.

"Where the hell have you been." Alec asks as he pulls his girlfriend into a hug.

"Luke won't let us talk to the shadowhunters. He ordered me not to talk to you, I'm sorry." She says and Izzy smiles sheepishly.

"It's okay, sorry for slapping you." She says and Alisha waves her off.

"It's fine." She says and her parabatai nods. "What's happened?"

"Dads here." Alec says as they begin to walk down the hallway.

"Sorry I wasn't here." She says and he smiles at her.

"It's not your fault." He says and she nods happily at him.

"What do you think the fire messages said?" Isabelle asks her brother as they stand still.

"Honestly? As long as Dad apologizes to Max, I don't care what the fire messages said." Alec responds to his sister.

"I know you're still upset about the whole affair, but think about it. Valentine escaped under our watch, and yet Dad somehow convinced the Inquisitor to let you keep your job? What kind of leverage could he possibly have to do something like that? Did he say anything?" Izzy questions as she stands beside her parabatai.

"Not really. He said he was in love." Alec sighs. Suddenly, he clenches his fist in slight pain catching the girls attention.

"Are you okay?" Alisha asks.

"Something's wrong with Jace." Alec states and the three rush to the library where Jace and Clary were before.

"By the Angel." Izzy says as they see the mess in the room. There is papers all over the ground and some glass near the centre of the room.

"What the hell?" Alec questions as he approaches broken pieces of glass and kneels down by them. Alec picks up a piece.

"What happened here?" Alisha questions. Alec looks in the glass and sees the image a lake.

"Is that a lake?" He questions and both girls turn to him.
