Chapter 57. Helping Them Understand

The next day...

Y/N POV

Our time in Ixtal came to an end and we were currently on board the ship home. I always liked the idea of sailing, mostly due to my love for the ocean. Unfortunately when we get home, most of us will be going our separate ways. AJ has to be heading back to Demacia. True Damage is heading to Freljord for a concert. Sona never mentioned anything of what she planned to do. In fact, she's been acting differently since last night. So has Marco which isn't something I don't see a lot.

I go on over to him while he was reading a book. Deciding to be a little annoying, I make sure to sneak up on him instead. Once close, I'm met with a smack from the book. I sigh a little, knowing I'll never get past his impervious defenses.

Marco: Nice try.

Y/N: How do you always know?

Marco: Only you smell like like that Y/N.

Y/N: So you got jokes.

He puts a smug smile on while I take a seat next to him.

Y/N: So what's wrong?

Marco: Nothing.

Y/N: I know you Marco.

Marco: Just trying to understand somethings.

Y/N: Liiiiike?

Marco: Sona..... confessed last night....

My baby boy is all grown up, getting a girl to fall for him like that! I just wanna drag him over to Sona and congratulate them both but I knew something was wrong with the way he sounded.

Y/N: So what happened?

Marco: I..... Denied her? I don't know.... I guess a better way of putting it would be I want to understand love enough to make it right for her.

Y/N: Really? And here I thought you would say you weren't good enough for her.

Marco: I don't need to state a fact man. But part of me.... Longs for that feeling.

Y/N: That feeling? Oh, I know what you're talking about.

Marco: Can you explain it too me?

Y/N: Well it's kinda like when I get charmed by one of the girls. Everything around me just kinda disappears and all I can think of is them. It makes me feel happy and loved. The best part of it all though is that it's a shared feeling.

Marco: Shared? Like, Sona feels the same thing?

Y/N: Exactly. She means a lot too you. And since you feel that way about her, she means a lot to you as well.

Marco: But I'm...

Y/N: No no no. Don't even think like that.

I wrap my arm around his shoulder and pull him in before giving him a noogie.

Marco: Stooop!

Y/N: Not thinking about not understanding it well enough now?

Marco: Well I am again now that you said it.

Y/N: Another noogie!

Marco elbows me in the gut, proving one thing. He's still leagues below my level of strength cause that was more of nudge. I punish this criminal assault with one long noogie. He fought desperately to get out of my grip but fails. Once I'm done, I let him go and he scoots away from me with an upset expression.

Marco: You're annoying.

Y/N: But you still love me.

Marco: Don't push it light bulb.

I laugh a little while he chuckles. Once I settle down, I pat him on the back with a reassuring smile.

Y/N: You've got my full support man. Just like how you and Sera supported me. I'd be more than happy to help you with this.

Seraphine POV

The ride home was somewhat uneventful but that's because everyone was tired from last night. It was really fun though. At least we can get back to working on that Album. I can't believe they actually want me to be apart of K/DA! I'm so excited to work with them. Okay, calm down Seraphine. You're a hard working Idol to be, not a fan girl. I look over to Ahri who was playing with Happy like a child. Okay, maybe I can be allowed to be a fan girl when she can be allowed to act like a child. Happy sure does look... Well happy.

I walk around the ship for a bit until I notice Sona all by herself. She had an unreadable expression so I came to her side and give her a surprise hug.

Sona: Oh, hey Sera.

Seraphine: Everything okay?

Sona: Yeah just.... thinking is all.

Seraphine: About?

Sona: Promise you won't laugh?

Seraphine: I promise.

Sona: I'm.... in love with Marco....

Oh wow, that's a first. I knew she liked him but this was certainly unexpected. I mean, not to insult Marco but he doesn't look like the type of guy who could get a girlfriend, let alone anyone like Sona. I think I'll pry a bit first.

Seraphine: Really? Where did this come from?

Sona: I don't know... He just seemed different from all my exes. I feel like I can trust him. He seemed pretty fun to be around considering he contrasted so well. Honestly, I was worried he'd hate me for going this far.

Seraphine: He's.... not the easiest person to get along with. When he first met me, he hardly wanted to acknowledge my presences but once Y/N talked to him a little, he gave me a chance. We aren't the best of friends but we do share one thing. Our love for Y/N.

Sona: He didn't seem that way when he met me.

Seraphine: You can thank Y/N for that one. He helped Marco change his outlook of people and opened up a little more. Only a little though. Marco is smart but he doesn't like people very much. When I heard you started making him hang out with True Damage, I feared the worst. Y/N may not have been able to fix the damage but I guess a miracle happened.

Sona: Hehehe..... Yeah, I guess....

Seraphine: So, did you tell him last night?

Sona: Yeah...

Seraphine: What did he say?

She doesn't respond. She just looks down to the water with a mixed expression.

Seraphine: Did he...?

Sona: No.... He said he needed to understand love more.

Seraphine: That's a good thing.

Sona: I don't know Sera.

Seraphine: Marco doesn't think about a lot of things cause he already knows a lot. The only reason why he wants to understand is so that he can make things work out for you both. Trust me.

Sona: But what if he doesn't really love me?

Seraphine: Then Y/N and I will give him a piece of our minds. I'm sure he'd never hurt you on purpose and I'm sure he's more in love with you than he thinks he is. The question is, are you willing to wait for him?

She looks out to the ocean again. A couple of dolphins jump out of the water in the distance, reminding me of that time I used that dolphin call blow Eve away. It made me smile before I look over to Sona.

Sona: I think I can...

Seraphine: I'll be sure to help you out. I did the same for Y/N with the girls. I'll do the same for you and Marco.

She returns the hug and we stand there, watching the waters. It'd be another day before we get home but once we do. Things are gonna change again. All of it will be for the best.
