THE POWER HAD BEEN OUT THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE SCHOOL. mr. schue thought it was a great idea for the new directions to have a lesson in the dark. this week's lesson was to stip down music, so basically, acoustic music.

jade really like this week's assignment because she always loved playing some sort of soft instrument, like the piano.

sam decided he would want to participate first, also loving this week's assignment. he had told mr. schue if he could go first, wanting to sing the song and kind of dedicate it to jade. mr. schue obviously said yes, wanting to start the week of strong and great.

"all right, i know these conditions aren't ideal, but i want to thank you guys for toughing it out. and we have our first volunteer, who is going to show us how to get back to basics and really strip it down. so, let's give it up for sam."

sam got up from his seat and grabbed his guitar as everyone softly clapped for him.

"thanks. um, well, when mr. schue started talking about being big, i started thinking about phil spector's legendary wall of sound, and how he would use, like thousands of instruments so his songs could really fill a stadium." sam said, as he sat down on the chair that was located in the front of the class.

"and then, i started thinking about stripping, um, out all that extra noise to get to the essence of the song. plus, my mom said that i was conceived to this song, so i kind of literally owe my existence to the righteous brothers."

everyone looked at sam very confused, as he kept rambling on. jade decided it was enough and tried to stop him. "sam, baby."

sam quickly understood what his girlfriend meant, as he prepared himself to sing in front of the class. "right, anyways, uh, here it goes."

(YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' SANG BY SAM EVANS)

jade couldn't help but smile as she heard sam sing. she rested her chin on her hand, enjoying her boyfriend's performance. she decided to sing along, making sam smile and stare at her for the rest of the song.

but, something was bugging him a bit. sam would see that artie would constantly look at his phone. it was rude of him because the others were actually enjoying the performance, while he just looked at his phone.

not wanting to make such a big deal out of it, sam decided to brush it off and continue to perform. once he finished, artie stopped looking at his phone and clapped with the others. sam put his guitar down and went to take a seat next to jade. he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and gave her a kiss on her temple.
