Lightning's P.O.V:
*KRACK-BOOM*
Lightning: Woah! It's a good thing I'm immune to uh.. myself.. I guess?
I continue flying to Pen's home address the he sent each of us so we can get started on our science project, of course I fly a little lower this time after nearly getting hit by a non-sentient lightning bolt. New Yoyle City is having quite the storm today, this really takes me back to my younger years if you somehow didn't know, us lightning bolts are always born in a thunderstorm needless to say this is like my own habitat.
I finally get to Pen's place, huh Black Hole really didn't lie when he said Pen has a nice place, I lightly knock on the window as I didn't really want to go down to find the building's entrance but instead of the white and blue capped Pen I knew an older and fancier looking black pen came to the window and he did not look happy.
Older pen: What do you think you're doing here!?
Lightning: Uh, sorry sir, isn't this where "Ben" lives?
I try to talk a little louder due to the wind and constant thunder so he can hear me. His scowl fades slight and he turns to call someone.
Older pen: BEN, A SMALL BOLT IS HERE FOR YOU AT THE WINDOW!
Pen (distant): Coming Dad!
Lightning: Oh so you're Pen's father, I'm Lighting, pleasure to meet you.
He takes my hand to shake it.
Mr. Ballpoint: Use the front door next time you want to visit.
Pen comes up and closes the window after letting me in.
Lightning: Have the others come yet?
Pen: Nope not yet.
*knock knock knock*
Pen: That's gotta be them. I'll get it Dad!
And it was in fact the others as in the rest of Death P.A.C.T. well... almost the rest of them.
Lightning: Hey, where's Marker?
Black Hole: That's what I've been wondering too.
Remote: He texted me to tell you guys he couldn't come, he has a study session with FREE FOOD today as well and had to choose. He said he'd see us tomorrow for the next session though.
Tree: Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
Pen: Eh, that's the one problem with being in multiple clubs, I gotta meet with Are you Okay? this Saturday.
Black Hole: 'Are you Okay?'
Pen: Oh I'm fine thanks for asking.
Awkward silence....
Mr. Ballpoint: Ok son I gotta get to work, you and your friends have a good time now I'll be back tomorrow.
Pen: Bye Dad.
Liy: See you later Mr. Ballpoint.
After that we started setting up our notebooks to each takes notes, I ocasionally glace outside with almost each thunderclap, I like a good storm and all but this was actually concerning me a little. My attention snaps back to Liy though as she speaks.
Liy: Okay so since we're basing our project around the capabilities of sentient black holes, I'm thinking we should off with what makes the ones with sentience different from the ones that well don't.
Pen: Oh well that's gonna be easy as Black Hole told me there isn't anything different other than the obvious, right my guy?
BH: Yeah, although I could've been a tiny bit vague back there... Aside from the obvious sentience, we're more recognized with our humanoid forms, plus unlike non-living black holes who just sit where they were formed we're more mobile which I guess makes us... more dangerous...
Pillow: "Makes... them.. more dangerous..." Got it!
BH: He-HEY! We aren't including that last bit are we?
Liy snatches the pencil and notepad from Pillow with a hilariously stern look to her.
Liy: Pillow, you can't even write! How about you leave the main notes to us and handle some of the uh illustrations?
Pillow scoffs and walks around Pen's place as we each take our own notes from what we know.
