Chapter 8 - The Holy Calling

"Me too. I was highschool when I heard about him. Some of my classmates were drooling over him," Claire said and let out a chuckle. "And I admit that I had a crush on him, too, although I wasn't that updated."

"I just heard about him. K-Pop kasi ang kinahuhumalingan ko noon. Pero 'yung mga classmate ko palagi siyang pinag-uusapan," Glaiza said.

"You know, I heard negative comments about him," Yannie said as she looked at me. Magkatabi kami ng upuan, habang magkatabi naman si Glaiza at Claire sa harapan namin.

I was intrigued, so I sat up straight and squinted my eyes a little bit.

"Like what?" Claired asked with curiosity. "Maayos naman niyang iniwan ang mga fans niya, 'di ba?"

Yannie shook her head and said, "No, not that. The negative comments are about his reason why he left his career as a YouTuber."

"Oh."

"He's a Christian right, Fara?" she asked me.

"Yes," I replied. "He's an evangelist, actually."

"That's what they are talking about. They said he doesn't need to leave, because he's just sharing his talents to the world, and there's nothing wrong with it."

I paused and grappled in my mind the words she said. Storm already explained to me the reason why he stopped. It was because he wanted to use his talent for God's glory alone.

"Yeah, I know some Christian artists who still share their talent to the world," Claire said.

My chest became heavy. Maybe cause they were talking my husband's mistake, though I didn't know if it was really a mistake.

"Magkakaiba rin kasi ng prinsipyo ang mga tao," sabi naman ni Glaiza.

I cleared my throat before I spoke, "He told me the reason why he left. He wants to use his talents for God's glory alone."

Tila napaisip naman sila.

"Hindi ba kapag binigyan ka ng Diyos ng talent, dapat mo rin 'yon ibahagi sa iba kasi 'yun ang purpose no'n kung bakit sa 'yo binigay ng Diyos 'yon. You can glorify God by sharing your talent with everyone," Claire said.

I fell silent, because I didn't know what to say and I thought she had a point.

"I'll ask him about that," sabi ko na lang.

"Fara, nandito na tayo," dinig kong sabi sa akin.

Nang imulat ko ang mga mata ko, nakita ko na nagsisibabaan na ng bus ang mga kasama namin. I had fallen asleep during our trip. Kasabay kong bumaba ng bus si Glaiza. I checked the time on my digital wrist watch: 10:25 P.M.

Tiningnan ko ang cellphone ko at nakita kong may mga text messages akong natanggap mula kay Storm:

Nasaan na kayo?

Nandito na ako sa tapat ng school niyo.

"May sundo ka ba Fara?" Claire asked me, so I turned my head to her.
