"OH SHUT IT!"

Hogwarts.

"Hermione, a minute?" asked Draco, as she followed him out of the Great Hall.

"What is it Malfoy?" she asked, folding her arms.

"Where is Alice?" he asked.

"What do you mean, where's Alice? I thought she was with you!?"

"I thought she was with you?!"

They looked worridly at each other.
They each thought she was with the opposite person.
But they were wrong.

"Where did you see her last?"asked Hermione, pacing around.

"In the corridor" he replied simply.

"Why?"

"She was worried about her brother or something"

Draco covered his mouth realising what he said.
The entire year, he had been worried about Alice giving the secret away, but instead, he gave it away.

"Brother?"

"When did you see her last?" he asked, sweating.

"Brother?" she asked angrily.

Draco stayed silent.
Hermione knew, and there was nothing he could do about it.

"Malfoy, you better tell me or you will be sorry!"

"Meet me in the library at seven" he replied, walking away.

Hermione knew she'd have to bring Harry and Ron.
But she wasn't telling Draco that, then he'd blow a fuse.

"Hermione, where are we going?!" asked Harry. "I've got potions homework!"

"Oh shut it!" she muttered.

Harry and Ron followed curious as to where and why she was taking them.

"Hermione, I am not studying!" whined Ron. "I need to practise Quidditch!"

"It's about Alice"

Ron and Harry exchanged worried glances.
They hadn't seen her in days, but they just assumed that she was with Draco, but again, they were wrong.

Harry's face took a look of disgust when he saw Malfoy sitting at the table Hermione was leading them to.

"What's he doing here?!" Harry, Ron and Draco shouted in unison.

"Oh shut up" she mumbled, taking a seat. "Take a seat"

They all took a seat, Harry and Draco still disgusted that they had to sit near each other.

"Alice is missing" began Hermione. "And I believe Draco has something to tell all of us"

Ron and was now looking at Draco as beads of sweat gathered on his forehead.

"We're still waiting Malfoy" urged Ron.

Draco took a deep breath and started from the beginning.
But he didn't tell them the truth, it was too risky.

"Her brother abandoned her, and she had no where to go, so we took her in"

Hermione didn't believe a word he said.

"I thought you said she was worried about him?"

"She was" he said. "Look that's what I was told, I know nothing more"

Harry and Ron were fully convinced, but Hermione still had her doubts.

"So you think her brother snuck into the school and brought her back?"

"How in Merlins name should I know" he said, trying not to shout. "That's all I know, if I knew anymore, I would tell you"

"Thanks Malfoy, you've really helped" thanked Harry as they left the table and headed out, Hermione punching Harry lightly, giving him a death glare.

As soon as everyone was out of sight, Draco reached into his pocket and pulled out two unopened envelopes.

The first was from his father.

Dear Draco,

The mudblood is finally within our grasp.
I'm glad that you ran after her, but I would not recommend it again. We don't want people thinking you've become fond of the girl.

She will be staying at the circus until further notice and then will be taken to the Dark Lord.

Father.

And the second one was from Alice.
It had a picture of her and a circus.
And her name was signed at the bottom and finished with a heart.

Draco knew what was in store for her, but he didn't want to believe it.
She was in trouble.

She was going to end up the same way as her brother.

She was going to be used for horrible things.
Things that that even Draco didn't want to think about.

Alice and her brother were crucial to Voldemort at this time.
He just needed to convince Alice that it would be for the greater good.
