"COMA?"

Alice woke up a week later, surrounded by the trio and Draco.
She was confused as to how she got there and why she was there.

And then everything came flooding back.
She tried to sit up, but Draco pushed her back down.

"You need to rest" he said softly.

"What's happening?" she asked panicking slightly.

"You'll be alright"

She smiled, and stared at the ceiling.

"Ms. Granger?" she asked.

"Yes?"

"Where do the stars go in the daytime?"

"They never go anywhere, they don't shine as bright because the sun it too bright" she replied.

"So stars never leave us?"

"They don't move an inch"

That means Henry would never leave her.
He would always be there, even if something else was blocking him from view.
And she would break those barriers and find her brother.

Soon enough, Draco allowed her to sit up and she could finally see everyone.

"Hello!" she waved happily, she was feeling ten times better.
Everyone waved back, feeling slightly awkward. "When can I leave?"

They looked at each other, wondering if she was actually being serious.

"When can I leave?" she asked again, looking at their confused faces.

"You do realise you've been in a coma for a week, don't you?" said Harry, looking at her.

"I don't know what a coma is"

"Its where a person is in a state of unconsciousness and cannot be awakened" Hermione replied.

"So I was asleep?"

"Well you were asleep, but you couldn't be awoken" said Draco.

"Is that bad?"

"Of course it's bad!" he exclaimed, laughing slightly.
Alice didn't know what to say.
She brought it on herself.
She didn't sleep.
She didn't eat.
She was rude to Lucius, she gave him a reason to hurt her.

"Excuse me, Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley and Ms. Granger?"

"Yes?" they answered in unison.

"Can I speak to Draco alone?"

Nobody answered.
Nobody spoke.
They just left.

"I owe you an explanation" Alice said, turning to Draco.

"You have a lot of explaining to do" he smiled.

"I am a Maledictus, which means I hold a blood curse. Such underbeings like me are destined over the course of their lives to become beasts"

Draco looked at her, repeating what she said in her head.
Wondering if a child this young deserves to go through what Alice has gone through.

"So the snake that bit me, that was you?" he asked softly and she nodded.

"I didn't mean to"

"And you healed me?"

"Any hurt I cause while a beast, I can heal when I return to human form. I didn't mean to hurt you"

"Of course you didn't mean it"

She smiled.
And he leaned over to hug her.

"Why was I in a como?"

"Coma?"

"Can you just answer my question"

"He hurt you badly. Your body couldn't cope with the pain you received. Not meaning to brag, but if I didn't get you out if there, you would be dead" he replied.

Alice reached over and hugged him tight.

"Thank you Draco!" she whispered.

"Hey! You said my name!"

"It felt like the right time!" she laughed, letting go.

"Oh, and this came for you" said Draco, handing her a letter.

It was Henry's handwriting.
And again, it wasn't the news she was hoping for.
