Chapter 100 - Final Chapter

Start from the beginning

Amrita suppressed her smile as she tried her best to push him away. 'No...please Maasi will come.' Ajay bit her ear softly and she whimpered. 'You just said Maasi will spend ages in the kitchen cooking something. Inder Chacha is busy in the study, and Nitin probably is kissing his girlfriend just like this in that room.' Ajay trailed kisses all along her cheek, and Amrita couldn't resist and rubbed her cheek against his stubble.

"Tell me how does your beard grow fast?' She asked him, still savouring the sensations as he nibbled and kissed the curve of her neck now. 'Just last night I shaved you clean for the press conference, and now there's already stubble. I am not complaining... just asking.'

And then she suddenly remembered and pushed him away. 'How do you know that she is his girlfriend and when did you find that photo in his wallet. Are you hiding something from me ?' She demanded, as Saroj brought some snacks from the kitchen, and Indrajit too joined them after finishing his call. Now all three of them were looking accusingly at Ajay.

Ajay raised both his hands up as in surrender, and began to explain.

"After the last undercover operation, I met Nitin briefly, just before he went off to Malaysia to remain hidden and away from everyone.' He looked uncomfortably at his Maasi now.

'Well, first he looked a bit edgy and upset and then after we had too many drinks, he began to confess that, he met this girl who was a journalist in the local newspaper, and he felt very much attracted to her. I think she was becoming close too, but she didn't know anything about him, and began to ask questions. His undercover mission was almost coming to an end, and as he couldn't reveal his true identity, he just broke up with her on a lame excuse, and left her for good. I am guessing he never contacted her again after that. She has every reason to be mad as hell with him, if you ask me. I ound the photo in the wallet just the other day though, he never showed it to me, even though I asked him number of times." Ajay smirked.

"You and your bloody jobs, you don't even care that you break a loved one's heart." Saroj fumed, looking at both father and son, as they stared back guiltily.

After what seemed like an eternity, Nitin and Naina finally emerged from the room, and joined the rest of the family. Naina was now looking nervously at everyone, while Nitin was looking awkward.

"Dad, Maa, this is Naina.... Naina and I..." Nitin paused, unable to decide what to say.

Saroj walked forward towards Naina smilingly, and Naina looked relieved.

"Come and sit here Naina, Ajay just told us how you and Nitin met in his previous job." She invited her towards the lounge and Naina timidly followed her.

"Dad!!" Nitin was still trying to muster courage, and Naina looked apprehensively at him.

Indrajit looked crossly at his son.

"You love a girl, and you don't even have the guts to admit it." Indrajit said crossly.

"No... Dad it's not like that at all. Naina and I, we do love each other but everything happened so suddenly, and I went off without saying a word. We just need some time, till we are 100% sure about each other, that's all. I know how Maa jumps all over me to get married and all that, but please don't push us, because we are not there yet." Nitin's voice grew confident as he went on.

"The moment we are sure, we will let you know, and we will get married if you give us your blessings. Also Naina being a journalist, we need to draw boundaries between our personal and professional lives too, so it is all still a work in progress." He sighed.

Amrita and Ajay came forward and as Ajay hugged his brother, Amrita sat next to Naina.

"It's perfectly all right that you two are not sure about each other. I think it is always better to take your time before reaching such important decisions. Don't you agree with me Maasi?" Amrita prompted Saroj gently.
