It's your road and yours alone.

Others may walk it with you,

but no one can walk it for you.

Ajay was in a conference all afternoon along with his senior colleagues. It was a high level interstate conference, discussing strategies and modus operandi, to conduct sting operations to stop the growing menace of organ trade across different states.

His superior SP Chaudhary was supposed to attend this conference but in the last minute, he excused himself and forced Ajay to attend instead.

During breaks Ajay tried to call Vidya on her mobile, but got the message that her mobile was switched off.

By the time the conference was finished, it was 7 pm and Ajay was left with a pounding headache.

He started his car and decided that he should go straight to Vidya's hostel to check on her, but stopped himself.

Even though he was worried about her, Ajay knew that Vidya wouldn't like if he treated her like a child, or behaved too protectively towards her

Even though he was worried about her, Ajay knew that Vidya wouldn't like if he treated her like a child, or behaved too protectively towards her. Perhaps she was capable of taking care of herself.

Just then he got a call from police station requiring him to return there immediately. Promising himself that he would go to Vidya's hostel later, and drop her at the train station for her journey, Ajay drove towards the Police station.

If only he trusted his instincts and went to meet Vidya straight from the conference!!

Vidya came out of the computer lab carrying the files and pen drive, and suddenly became aware how chilly and dark it was outside. Owing to the hour, the hospital was teeming with visitors. She was quite hungry too as it she hadn't eaten for a long time.

She approached the canteen to eat something but looking at the crowds there, she decided against it. All the hustle and bustle made her feel suffocated and she wanted to be away from crowds and noise. But more than anything, she wanted to share all the information she just found and get it off her chest.

She wanted to call Ajay and started searching for her phone in her pockets only to remember that she left her mobile in the IT Lab.

She cursed her bad luck as the realization hit her that she won't be able to go back to retrieve it now.

What if the IT staff found her phone there tomorrow and started enquiries?

Her phone would be definitely traced back to her. How could she explain her position then?

Suddenly she saw the gentle and good humored Professor Tripathi entering his office while talking on the phone.

She decided that it would be best to explain everything she had done so far to the Dean Tripathi.
