The only thing more shocking than the truth are

the lies people tell to cover it up.

Kamal was too shocked to reply for a few seconds but rallied on.

"What? What the hell are you talking about? I never killed anybody. Your honour, this is absolutely ridiculous. Mr Vikram Chaudhary and Mr Pratap Chaudhary are very dear friends of mine. I would never harm them." Kamal protested in vain, but he wilted under the intense gaze of Khurana.

"Mr Kamal Chaudhary, unlike your attorney, I base all my arguments on plain facts and logic. If Ajay had seen CCTV tapes indeed as you were saying, then it surely follows that he knew you were involved in the murder. Was it not?"

"It wasn't like that at all. Ajay was threatening to kill Pratap Chaudhary, because he got proof now that he killed his fiancée Vidya Mehta. And Pratap wanted to kill Ajay so this truth will never come out. They were firing at each other. I tried to stop them both in vain. Ajay Shot at Pratap first, and then I shot at Ajay's arm to disarm him. He was bleeding and hurt, so he dropped his gun but went back to hiding behind the pillar. S I Sarang and the police constables were there too. If you don't believe me, ask them." Kamal lied brazenly and hoped it sounded authentic enough.

"Oh yes SI Sarang and the police constables. How could I forget? But thanks for reminding me Mr Chaudhary." Khurana mocked.

"Your honour this is the list of witnesses I want to present in the court today who can tell us exactly what happened that day

"Your honour this is the list of witnesses I want to present in the court today who can tell us exactly what happened that day." He walked towards the Judge's chair and handed over a prepared list.

Kamal Chaudhary sat seething, and cursed himself freely for his stupidity and slip of tongue. But he was still feeling confident. S I Sarang and the constables can corroborate his version of events, because they arrived there after the murder.

Shyam realised why Khurana was such feared public prosecutor in the whole state and his heart filled with admiration for him. But more than anything, he was happy that finally truth had come out. He wanted to dance like a conga. He was sorely missing his friends Mukesh and Ajay. How happily they would have celebrated this very moment? Mukesh had to go abroad for a conference for his company so he couldn't be here. He wanted to kiss Sonali long and hard, just to show his excitement but decided against it. He didn't want to cause unnecessary distraction. Instead he just sighed happily and squeezed Sonali's hand.

For Amrita, watching her Baba and Dr Sharma beaming so much was the best gift Khurana Sir ever gave. She felt truly and completely thankful to Rakesh Khurana at the moment. As she closed her eyes, only one face filled her heart and mind, Ajay! How she wished he should have been there right now!! This is what he always fought and aimed for. And rightfully so. Getting justice is the best revenge ever. She somehow felt his presence right there. As if he was right behind her. She turned to look but found nothing than the white brick wall at the back.
