 ~~True love doesn't have a happy ending,

because true love never ends.~~

Ajay kept to his promise, and called Amrita regularly, although he ran out of topics to talk on the phone. In fact he hated it. The moment he heard Ammu's husky voice on the phone, he felt like running back to her, and talk to her in person.

He would even picture her face, how she always tilted her face to the left when talking... the soft curls from her hair, which always escaped and fell on her forehead, her full lips as she was talking on the phone with him and much more .......and he hated himself for it. The fact that she looked more beautiful whenever he saw her, and how his eyes noticed every subtle change in her body added to his agony.

Their phone conversations became shorter and shorter, till one day Amrita finally snapped and asked him bluntly what was going on.

He couldn't say what he felt, as he himself was not sure about it. But he couldn't lie to Ammu as well. Instead he chose to hide the real reason.

"You know how much I hate talking Ammu. Especially on the phone... it is not something I can get used so suddenly now and love it." He remarked casually, and prayed she would believe him.

"Yes... I can understand. But if we stop talking to each other, how can we keep in touch? I feel terrible as it is Ajay." Amrita sighed.

"Perhaps we can text each other more and talk less." Ajay suggested cautiously. At least he won't be agonising with images of her in his head, if he was just reading her texts! And it would give him some breathing time, to sort out the messy ideas in his head, Ajay hoped.

"Good Idea. Let's do that more." Amrita agreed.

Ajay sighed in relief.

If Ajay thought he was the only one who was looking at his friend differently, he was sorely mistaken.

Amrita couldn't help but notice the broad shoulders and strong arms Ajay had developed, thanks to his boxing practice, or the fact that his now chiselled body was competing with his dark brown eyes and lovely mouth for the best feature prize.
