A few centuries ago in Europe or so, there was a lady whose chicken laid an egg. The egg said that "Christ was coming," and she received a premonition that twelve more eggs would come, and the last one would usher in the apocalypse.
While everyone was freaking out, she told them that if they bought paper from her that was like a "Get-in-to-Heaven" pass, they would be saved. And the eggs kept coming, so people bought the slips.
Well, a guy got suspicious and looked at the eggs.
If God was truly doing this, he wouldn't use corrosive ink, right?
So naturally they caught her red-handed putting the last egg in the chicken.
And they fined her.
Yeah....
The lady ended up getting executed for something else... I can't remember what it was.
This goes to show that people will believe just about anything.
Although the rabbit story... *shudders*
