"Shadow?" Than whispers in an incredulous voice.

Nikita shakes her head and says: "I..."

Than turns his gaze to her and says, "You're the one behind all this chaos. Are you?'

Shadow sighs to himself and mutters, "I killed Kazmer Viktor Genesis."

Than nods cautiously and mutters, "Yes."

"The only one standing in my way is Isis Genesis." Shadow silently.

"Where are you going with this?" Than asks, shaking his head with a furrowed brow.

"After eliminating Isis, Genesis has fulfilled its promise. And I can take everything that should belong to me by birth," says Shadow quietly.

"Would you like all of that then?" Than asks, looking down.

"Yes," Shadow replies, closing his eyes for a moment, a warm smile tugging at the corners of his lips, which involuntarily makes Than want  to throw up. 

Nevertheless, he decides to control  himself and says, "Then I can tell you that you have lost your chance, and even the death of Isis would not help you get closer to your goal, because most of the forces of Genesis are now subordinate to Lily Black - Queen of Ghosts."

Shadow looks at him and asks, fuming with anger herself, "Why are you telling me all this?"

Than bites his lip. What could he have said?

Shadow was so sure of her power and unstoppability that even the slightest mistake in her calculations could lead to disaster. So Than had to be extremely confident in his next words. No matter how thoughtless they were - those were the words he had to say.

"Because when I had everything, I was more miserable than ever. And now... where I have nothing, I've never been happier." Than answers, looking deeply into the girl's eyes.

The girl's dark eyes also fixed on the boy, and a gentle gasp came from her lips, in which were intertwined pain, sadness, joy and perhaps even inexplicable emotions, which their bodies were familiar with for the first time, but their souls had known for a long time. It was an equally heartwarming and pleasant and slightly terrifying moment for the souls, as if they were two people meeting again, across long decades.

Than looks the girl deeper into the girl's eyes and his hand goes down to the shoulder of the girl's dress which he gently reveals and murmurs, "Even though I haven't known you for a long time Shadow, I dare say Nikita Nadege Genesis, could never get to know you. He would just say a few cold words and leave."

"You don't know me!" the girl snaps angrily, but even after being pushed away, Than steps back to her and hands her a small pistol, "If you want to save your empire, this is your best chance."

Shadow stares at Than and asks, "Why?"

"I can't stop you, but... I can give you a choice. So that's what I'll do," says Than, pushing the gun into his hand.

"Yes, I understand, but... why?" Shadow asks with a confused expression.

"All your life you've wanted a choice. And I want to give it to you now," Than answers and heads to the door.

"Wait!" screams the girl suddenly.

Than turns around and watches the girl's tongue lick her lips and then asks, lips trembling: "There must be some trick here! You did something with it! Didn't you!?'

Than grins softly and heads out the door, shouting over the echoing hallway, "We'll meet on the battlefield Ms. Genesis! I meant to say, Shadow!"

The girl stares at him in astonishment and slightly enraged, and screams down the entire corridor, so loud that it echoes throughout the castle.
