"Why would Snake keep this from me?" Lily asks pulling away from Marc.
"I don't know," Marc answers with a shrug.
"Have you found out anything about Adrian?" Lily asks quietly.
"All I knew was that Electra mentioned something to Storm that she should be here in 6 days. And that was 5 days ago," says Marc, scratching his head.
"Has Storm mentioned anything? Or Snake?" Lily asks, drumming her fingers against the edge of the fountain.
"I have to say something that might be a little off topic," says Marc cautiously.
"What?" Lily asks, pacing nervously.
"Don't you think it's weird that they've been hiding a lot of important information from us lately? As if they themselves had a hand in Genesis's rich game," Marc asks quietly.
"Storm and Snake always do. That doesn't necessarily mean what you're referring to," Lily tries to say, keeping calm.
"Are you sure? You said yourself that Storm should have been the queen. But Kro was the only one who was against it and then he got out of it by making you Queen of Wendel. Why wouldn't she want to get rid of Kro, you and Shadow?" Marc asks, frowning.
"Shadow made the decision to go find answers to her questions," says Lily looking at Marc.
"But why now? Why didn't she do it before?" Marc mentions suspiciously.
"What are you trying to imply?" Lily asks, frowning.
"Mira and Myles will soon be 2 years old. Snake and Storm would have the means to take down a ruler who would have no one to put on the throne after he burned out. But so far the throne is unsecured. And as far as I've understood, the only one who really trusts you besides Kro is...."
"Shadow. But that wouldn't be like Storm at all!" Lily snaps angrily.
"That's what she would say," says Marc, nodding.
"You think Storm is actually behind all of this? Just because she didn't get the throne?" Lily asks hurt.
"Power blinds people, Lily Black. People will do anything to get it and feel immortal even for a few decades," says Marc.
"Storm wouldn't do that," says Lily, swinging over her.
"Exactly. Because, after all, why should she! I'm merely suggesting you to be more careful. I'm sorry if I expressed myself wrong in any way," explains Marc, putting his hands on Lily's shoulders.
Lily looks thoughtfully at Marc's hands on her shoulders and then quietly pulls away from him and says, "I'll talk to her."
Shadow angrily kicks the bed.
Victory had never backfired like this. And that drove the girl crazy.
She had no other option. She had to accept it.

Shadow slumps tiredly against the edge of the bed and stares thoughtfully at the bracelet flowing on her arm.
But unfortunately, the girl doesn't get to look at it for long when there is a knock on the door and Kro asks, "Shadow, do you have a moment?"
"What for?" Shadow asks, turning his back on the boy.
"I'm worried about you, Shadow," Kro says, turning the girl towards him.
"Why?" Shadow asks, glancing across the floor.
"You made a decision about where Kazmer Viktor Genesis took over the throne very quickly," says Kro doubtfully.
"And then?" Shadow asks, looking out the window.
"Kazmer Viktor Genesis is a dangerous man. You know that," says Kro, looking at the girl.
"I've met more dangerous ones," says Shadow quietly.
"For example, who?" Kro asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Why should I? To please you?" Shadow asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Shadow... I'm only trying to help you," Kro tries to say.
"Don't," says Shadow, sitting on the bed.
"Why not? Last time I checked, we were on the same side." Kro says angrily.
"You're not on my side anymore. And maybe that's the best for everyone," says Shadow coldly.
"You really think I want to be here? In the service of Genesis?'' Kro asks, raising an eyebrow.
"What happened to just a few stabs and great armies fall?" Shadow asks, swallowing.
"These are just stories to scare the faint of heart. You know that," says Kro.
"Now I know," Shadow hisses angrily.
"You know what?" Kro asks in a confused voice.
"It was all an illusion." Shadow hisses as she storms past Krost.
