"My head...it doesn't hurt anymore..."

A nice plastic bag sat on the glass round table. Two boxes of rice cakes inside, jacked up after being thrown away.

A set of warm tea, provided beside it.

"Where am I...? Did I fell off my bed during a dream...?"

It snowed outside, the curtains of a hospital room opened to reveal the winter night.

A crash during the holiday night, bringing her to where she is now.

"Arisugawa-san" a voice called.

Her pink eyes already opened, conscious, she slowly stood up and looked to her right.

A nurse stood, recently mentioning her name.

"The...hospital...?" realizing such familiar elements, Momoko had to ask. It was then followed by the nurse's nod.

"Earlier at JJJ street, you've gotten into an accident. You were thrown to the side quite roughly, resulting a hard hit on your head"

"But it seems you're alright, now. There weren't any severe damages either. We suggest you to rest a bit more"

Such information, it immediately brought her to realize what has happened.

Awhile after her rice cake purchase, a truck came in full speed when she crossed the road.

And a particular person was the last she saw before it all went black.

She knew well who he was. How coincidentally perfect the timing was.

A person she's been wanting to meet.

"Um-" thus quickly, her face lit up, eager to ask about him to the nurse.

But it seems, she didn't need to ask after all.

The nurse wasn't finished.

"The accident involved a drunk truck driver, it was very alarming" she told. "But a young man was keen to notice, and quick to act"

The hospital room was quiet and calm, the recalled events being shared clear to hear.

"He saved you from getting hurt" a soft smile on the nurse's face as she carried on. "A true hero he was"

All of those said, but one word remained the most prominent.

"Was...?" and Momoko herself, had to reflexively ask. Her expression not having to shift just yet.

The nurse nodded.

But once that gesture was given, signifying a confirmation, her brows had to furrow slightly.

Something wired in her brain the moment she heard that word. But then again, it was difficult to accept.

"He's being treated too, right?" and eventually came with more questions. "He's in this hospital too right now. Right?"

"I know that he'll probably take longer to recover, but once I get enough rest, I can visit him"

"Right?"

It was difficult to believe. It's all misinterpreted. Is it?

The nurse's gentle smile progressively faded each question given. But now another came up, a patient one.

She understood where this is going.

"Arisugawa-san" and began to say. Walking near the hospital bed, she exchanged Momoko's concerned gaze with an assuring one.

"That man wouldn't have wanted you to be met with the consequences he faced"

"He left, but I believe with content for having to save you" she said.
