George POV.

Me and the blond headed to class soon after, the day long and slow as usual, but I spent most of the time worrying about what was going to happen after school.
Nobody here noticed the cheerleader uniform, thankfully and I kept the hoodie over my uniform the entire time however that caused it's own problems.

One of our first classes today was PE, and so I got into my gym gear, did gym, and got changed again without drawing any attention but then I had to spend the rest of the day with the hoodie over me, making me feel like I was trapped in a dessert.
"Georgie I don't think it's healthy for you to wear that hoodie all day, you should take it off." The blond suggested, looking concerned.
"I'm fine." I lied, ignoring the immense heat surrounding me, "I don't need to take off this hoodie so stop worrying Pillow."

Although I said that, the second I stepped out of the changing room I chugged my entire bottle of iced water and then stole Clay's bottle and drank it too. The blond raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.

At lunch, the second the bell rang I went down to the cafeteria and took one of the free bottles of water which I drank quickly as I headed down to the air conditioned library.
Clay was running after me, holding a bottle of water in one hand and an apple in the other, but the second he caught up I swiped his water off of him.

But now that is was the end of the day I knew I would have to take off the hoodie. Clay and I were in no hurry to leave class, since we just needed to head down a couple hallways and then to the football pitch (for Clay's football practice) and the gym (for my cheer practice).

"Do I really have to do this Clay?" I asked, giving him a sad look and feeling my cheeks flushed red from embarrassment as I imagined everyone's reactions.
"Yes you do Georgie, sorry but I don't make the rules."
I shot him a glare, "yes you do. Please I'll do anything!"

Clay POV.

The Brit shot me a fierce glare, "yes you do. Please I'll do anything!"
"Really, anything?"
Georgie nodded eagerly, clearly not wanting to do cheer practice.

I thought it over for a moment. This honestly felt mean, forcing him to be a cheerleader and have him dancing around on a field during halftime at the school football games.
Although it would be hilarious I didn't want him to feel embarrassed.

"Fine. I will try to get you off the cheer team, but since we are already here you may as well do practice today."
My eyes met his and I saw him give a small nod, his eyes lighting up slightly at the thought of him not being a cheerleader.
"... But since it's your only practice I get to watch you, I am sure I could get you off football today.
The football coach saw you cooking yourself in that damn hoodie and would probably believe me if I sent him a text saying I needed to take you home cause your sick."

"You are using me as an excuse." He raised an eyebrow.
I nodded, "pretty much."
"You are the worst Pillow."
"Yet somehow end up being the best Pillow."
"Mhm, somehow."

Quickly I pulled out my phone and sent my coach a message, 'hey can't make practice sorry, my friend is sick and I need to take him home.' that seemed realistic enough.

George POV.

While Clay was texting his coach on his phone I opted the double doors leading into the gym before looking around tentatively. There was a row of bleachers running along one wall facing towards an indoor basketball court with a shiny wooden floor, that your shoes squeaked on as you ran along. A group of skinny cheerleaders were gathered around talking as Coach McAuley made her way over to them.

I shifted from one foot to the other nervously as I waited by the door, not wanting to go in alone and feeling slightly relieved when Clay followed me into the gym.
We headed over to the bleachers where I slowly pulled off the hoodie revealing the hideous looking uniform that I'd been hiding all day. I took my time heading over to the group, stopping every 10 seconds or so to readjust my clothes or tie my shoelaces over and over again.

Clay headed over to Coach McAuley and said something to her, I saw the blonds lips moving and hers moving back on response, but I was too far away to hear any words coming from the pair.
The other cheerleaders all noticed the conversation as well, but were not trying to figure out what they were saying and just all stared at the attractive blond in front of them talking to their coach.

They thought he was attractive, not me. Pillow=Plain white feather-filled blob, nothing beautiful, just blob.

After 5 minutes of stalling I gathered enough confidence to walk over to the cheerleaders and did, standing awkwardly to the side as they chatted around me. Eventually Coach McAuley told us all to gather around her and motioned for me to come stand next to her with a quick flick from her pointer finger.

As I walked over Clay gave me a supportive smile and headed over to the bleachers, sitting beside the spot where I dumped my stuff. I couldn't help but notice most of the cheerleaders eyes following him, and I couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed. (And maybe also a little jealous)

Once I stood beside the coach she looked around the group of girls, "this is George." She introduced, "he will be joining us for today to learn some basic moves." My eyes stayed fixed on the ground as she spoke.
"Niki, Puffy, do you mind showing him some basic moves and stuff?"
Her eyes moved over to meet 2 girls standing side by side near the back of the group who both nodded in response.
"Good, the rest of you just continue practicing the routine we started last week."

The group of girls quickly dispersed leaving only the 2 called Niki and Puffy who smiled over at me.
I looked around awkwardly as I saw some girls messing around doing flips and cartwheels and beginning to make a human pyramid. 'Would I need to do that?' I wondered.

After the 2 girls introduced themselves (although I already knew their names) they took me through to a side room near the far end of the gym that I'd never been in before, and Clay followed closely behind.
It was about the size of 2 classrooms mushed together and had a soft carpet on the floor with a stack of mats lined up in front of a full glass window which looked out over the school parking lot.

Once we entered the room, Clay leaned against the wall and watched us, he was holding his phone in his hand and was clearly recording, or at least taking a fuck ton of photos.

"This is a small room that some elementary schools use to teach gymnastics, they come over here once a week in the afternoon for it." The blond girl, Niki explained.
They then both pivoted on their feet and turned to face me, Puffy spoke "now, it's time to show you what we do here."

Why the fuck did I feel so nervous.
