I twirled the tail-end of my braid around my index finger while I smiled at Colton and he laughed.

"Wait." He said, frowning slightly. "What does your shirt say?" I turned around so he could read the back of my shirt- 'Walk The Moon'.

While he read, I looked across the street at the Starbucks' outlet. A couple stepped out. The guy had dirty blond hair and for what I could see, green eyes. The girl had blue eyes and auburn hair. I squinted at the guy- he looked strangely familiar. Then I realized. It was Kendall.

My mind went a little fuzzy as I recalled a memory. Two, maybe more years ago, I met a guy in a bar. I know we could have had the cliche one night stand, and be on our different way for the rest of our lives, but it was so much different than that. Besides the sex, which didn't happen until past 3 AM, we could have just done it, but we didn't. We talked. About everything. My life, his life. His plans, my plans. My past, his past. We were slightly drunk so we weren't wild. But I remembered that night, because, yes, I had sex with a stranger on a Saturday night. I got laid, like people expect people to do so. But unlike them, I had made a friend.

A smile automatically stretched on my face. "Wait here a second Colt." I told him. "I just saw a friend." I checked the road twice before approaching the two of them.

"Kendall!" I called out. The tall man spun around and his eyes landed on me. "Y\N!" He grinned and immediately opened his arms for a hug. "So good to see you again!" I said as I pulled away. He studied me and said, "Likewise."

"Oh- hi Mica." I smiled at the girl once I saw who it was. She looked confused but she smile all the same. "Uhh, do I know you?"

I laughed. "No- but all of Kendall's fans do." Kendall looked incredulously back at me. "They do?" He asked.

"Duh." I rolled my eyes.
"Wait...do you guys know each other?" Mica asked looking from her boyfriend to me.

"Uhh..." I felt the color rising in my cheeks. Kendall was the same, turning tomato red. "I'll let you explain." I said.

He chuckled nervously before he turned to Mica. "We...um, we had a ... well- an encounter sometime ago." He told her, scratching his reddening ear.

"Oh." She said- definitely feeling like a third wheel. I shuffled my feet awkwardly. "It-it was before so came along right?" She asked him. "Of course!" He's said, obviously relieved. "I would never cheat on you baby girl." He said putting his arm around her back. She smiled happily at him.

"Well anyways-" I said. "I'll see you guys around maybe." I said turning around and waving at them. "Sure." I heard Mica's voice. "Nice meeting you."

Kendall stood silently, as if lost in thought.

As I walked across the street to Colton, I looked back at him. He still stood there, a kind of longing in his eyes as Mica turned away to the racks behind him. He looked at me as if his brain was replaying the night, too. He looked.. well he looked as if he almost wished he could have one more night.
