The superfriends are busy with figuring out who ended up winding the game so you figured they wouldn't miss you or Kara since the two of you had lost early in the game.
"So there's this new Chinese restaurant that opened up down my street. I've been thinking about checking it out."
"Really? Why didn't you tell me so we could go for lunch."
"Well it's more of a dinner kind of restaurant."
"Then we can go for dinner."
"The kind that you might want to take a date there. I've seen reviews of it and they say it's quite romantic."
Kara pouts at this. She didn't have anyone to go with. The person that she wanted to go with wouldn't say yes to her in a million years.
"I guess that I can wait until someone asks me out. I still have the one nearby."
You mentally facepalmed. You needed to be more obvious. Kara was a clueless as they could come. It was adorable but not at a time when you wanted her to ask you out.
"I would love to go. It's just too bad that we aren't dating anyone to take."
"Yeah but that's okay. We can keep buying from Mr. Zheng. We're his top customers and he always includes a couple of extra potstickers for us."
"oh...that's true."
You dropped the matter. Kara had already changed the subject to bring it up again.

"Kara, what was that?"
"What was what?"
Kara asks Alex after the two of them finish cleaning after game night.
"What you were doing with (y/n). She was hinting at you that she wanted to go on a date with you."
"What are you talking about? No, she didn't. She was just telling me about how romantic this new restaurant is. It's not exactly a restaurant that you can take a friend."
"Exactly, she brought it up so you could ask her out. She literally told you that she wanted to go."
"That's ridicu.....'
Kara trailed off as she replayed the conversation. How excited you seem and then it turned to disappointment when she mentioned having to wait until the two of you found someone.
"Oh, this is embarrassing. In my defense, I wasn't exactly thinking straight."
"Tell me about it. Now are you going to ask her out or what? Poor girl probably thinks that you had no interest in her."
"It's kind of late..should I just wait until tomorrow."
"No. I know you. You're just going to delay it until the next day. Go ask her out now."
"I can't. She's probably already sleeping."
"Kara, it's Friday night. She just left your apartment. The chances of her being awake are pretty high up. Go ask her out. Stop being a chicken."
"Okay, okay. I'll ask her out."
Kara starts to head to her door when Alex stops her.
"I think it's better if you fly to her. Faster than taking my bike to see her."
"...You're letting me use my powers for my own benefit?"
"oh just go. I know that you often use them when they aren't needed."
Kara hugs Alex before rushing out the window and to your place. Within seconds and she arrives at your balcony. She could see you barely arriving so she knocks and wait for you to open the window for her.
"Kara? What are you doing here? Is everything okay?"
Kara looks around, feeling a little too exposed outside in the apartment complex.
"Can I come in?"
"Of course!"
You step back and let her in, closing the window behind her. You watch as she paces up and down your living room in deep thought.
"I'm a little worried. What's going on Kara."
"Will you go out with me? I didn't realize until now that you had been hinting to me that you wanted me to take you to this new restaurant. I thought you were telling me another one of those date ideas that you always tell me about....you kept telling me about them so I could take you on one, didn't you."
It took everything in you to keep from smiling. Messing with Kara was just too easy.
"I was just making conversation Kara...." When her smile falls off, you decide to just be honest with her. "Okay, I did tell you so you could ask me out on one of them. I was trying to get you to ask me out earlier. I should've just been more forward."
Kara gives you a smile. Happy that she had been right. She might've been a little late to realize what you had been doing but what matters is that she had asked you out.
"So, does that mean you'll go on a date with me."
"Yes and for our first date. We'll go to that restaurant."
"First? Does that mean we'll be going on more?" Kara asked but you were already walking to your room. "(y/n)? (y/n)!"
