Instead - Kili (request)

Start from the beginning

On the other side of the room, Kili was fuming. He hadn't thought about it much when you told him that an old friend of yours was coming to visit. He had presumed that it would be a dwarrodam, not a dwarrow even bigger than Dwalin with a beard that gathered compliments all around! Every time he saw the mountain-sized dwarrow in your presence, his skin became itchy and hot and his hands clenched into fists. He would do about anything to get your attention away from this Furin and back to him.

Kili had tried basically everything to get your attention back to him, but it seemed the more he tried to keep you apart, the more insistent you were to spend time with your friend. You had told him a dozen times that you wanted to spend time with Furin as you hadn't seen him in so many years and you just wanted to catch up with your friends, but Kili was suspicious about Furin's intentions. His feelings had nothing to do with the fact that Furin had a magnificent beard and he was taller than every dwarf and a skilled swordsman. He repeatedly told this to Fili and Thorin and Balin and Dwalin and everyone else that seemed insistent that Furin and Y/N were just friends and that he was worrying over nothing and that he should stop being jealous. But he wasn't worried and he was definitely not jealous! He just wanted to make sure that Furin didn't step out of line or try to steal you away from him.

You and Furin were having breakfast when a guard came running to you, panting after the long journey.
"My lady, you are needed in the Hall of the Kings. Prince Kili has arranged the beer tasting to be down there." You frowned, that was not supposed to be today, but two days from now!
"Okay, I'll join you shortly. I'm sorry Furin, it appears I have mixed the times. I'll see you at supper?" He nodded and you hurried towards the hall where your husband was waiting for you, secretly grinning that he had managed to pull you away from Furin for an hour or two.

You and Furin were walking along the halls of Erebor, you were showing him your favorite parts of the mountain when Kili appeared behind a corner, juggling with knives.
"What in Mahal's name are you doing? You could get seriously hurt!" You screeched and ran to him and grabbed his hands so all the knives clattered to the floor.
"I'm just practicing."
"Could you practice with something that does not danger your life? Yesterday it was burning torches, today it was knives? Have you lost your mind completely?"
"Only around you." He smiled brightly at you, and you rolled your eyes.
"Sweet talker. Now, go find something to do that does not come with the danger of losing body parts, please? We'd like to continue our walk." He nodded and disappeared somewhere in the crowd after picking up the knives.

While you were eating supper with Furin, Thorin, and Fili, Kili appeared, carrying a harp. Where he had gotten it, you had no idea but he started playing it and started singing a song that he had apparently made himself.

Oh Y/N
Love of my life
I love you so
You are my sun, my moon, my stars
I love you so
Please, stay
(repeats x7)

(A/N: What do you think, should I abandon writing and become a composer instead? XD)

To say, Kili wasn't the best singer or harp player, and the four of you tried to keep a straight face during his performance. After he finished, you applauded shortly while Fili burst out laughing and slumped against the desk. When he managed to get himself back under control and air in his lungs, he breathed out.
"What was that?" Kili looked offended.
"It was a song. For Y/N." Fili let out a snort of laughter.
"Why did you sing it here, why not in your private courters?"
"I felt like singing it here." With that, Kili turned and left, and the four of you were left wondering what on earth just happened.

Four days before the wedding you had enough. You stood up from your chair hastily, knocking it down, and told Furin you would be right back. Then, you marched to Kili and dragged him by the ear to your room.
"What is the name of Mahal is wrong with you?" You exclaimed, staring tightly at your fiance who was rubbing his sore ear.
"What do you mean?"
"DON'T pretend to be clueless, Kili, you know EXACTLY what I mean." You poked his chest with your finger, your tone sounding so utterly pissed that Kili realized it might be for the best if he just told you what was on his heart.
"I don't like when you spend so much time with Furin, that's all."
"Oh, I've noticed. But WHY for Mahal's sake? He's my friend, one that I haven't seen in quite some while, and I've missed him so much. So why are you making it so hard for us to-?" You were practically yelling now, and Kili had to raise his voice to get his words to your ears.
"I'm worried that you might want to marry him instead of me!" There, he said it.

"Why on earth are you thinking of such things? I love you." You sat down next to him, and he shook his head.
"Is it because of his beard?" You weren't stupid, beards were a big deal for all dwarves but especially for dwarrows and you knew Kili had always been insecure about his small one. He just mumbled something that sounded a lot like a "no" as a response and that was when you knew that you had guessed right.
"I could care less if his beard was blessed by the gods themselves and if it was made of pure gold, he is just a friend and I love you!" You claimed, and he lifted his eyes to you and smiled.
"I know that it's just hard." He muttered, and you kissed his forehead before standing up.
"I'm going to go back to eat my supper with Furin. Can you please stop the stunts you have been pulling, they drive everyone up the wall, especially me?"
"I promise, I'm sorry."
"It's alright darling. I think you have a meeting with the musicians shortly, don't forget about it." You reminded him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before you exited the door, leaving Kili sitting on the bed alone.

You were shivering with nerves, and you kept fiddling with the hem of your dress, much to the frustration of your handmaids.
"My lady, please keep your hands off the hem, it will get wrinkled." One of them reminded you again, and you let go of it and resumed your fiddling, this time with a spare part of your hair.
"I'm sorry."
"Do not worry, my lady, everything will go as planned. There is no reason for you to be nervous. I've seen many brides in my day but you are by far the most beautiful." You blushed at the compliment and nearly jumped out of your skin when a knock sounded on the door.
"Y/N? It's starting to be time." Furin's voice sounded from the other side of the door, and your heart jumped to your throat.
"Come in." You called, and he opened the door. A bright smile broke on his face when he saw you.
"You look very beautiful." You blushed again.
"Thank you."
"Shall we?" Furin offered you his hand, and you walked to him and grabbed his arm tight as yours were shaking violently.
"I won't let you fall." You just nodded numbly and allowed him to walk you next to a pair of huge wooden doors.
"You ready?" You took a deep, staggering breath in and nodded, fearing that your voice might not work. Furin nodded to the dwarf on his right, who hurried to open the doors.

As you stepped into the beautifully decorated hall, the trumpets sounded but you hardly heard them as your attention was glued to Kili. Actually, you noticed barely anything on your way to the front of the room. When you reached it, Furin handed you to Kili and bowed shortly.
"If you hurt her, I will break every bone in your body." Kili just nodded at Furin, knowing that there was no need to fear as he would never harm you. As he looked into your eyes and you into his, there was no doubt in the whole world that you would have in the place of the other.

Another request is done! I have long wanted to write a wedding scene, and now I kind of want to write a oneshot that is all about a wedding.

I have gotten my writing motivation back, so if you want to request, please send me one. I will write them when I have the time/energy/motivation, so I can't promise a certain time when they will be ready but I promise I will get them done.
