A path had been cut through the wheat field, not wide, just enough to show a person had entered. Rosie followed the path of broken stems to what at first glance was a bundle of clothes. She took her walking cane and gave it a gentle poke. In a flash the bundle took the form of a child, moving away with tiny hands raised over their grubby face. It was a girl, long tangled hair blown about her face, obscuring the layer of grime that was only broken by tear tracks; her clothes were of the wintertime that passed several months ago and her cheekbones were more pronounced than they should ever be on one so young. At her age, she should be cherubic, but instead, she reminded Rosie of a walking skeleton. The girl whimpered as if expecting a blow. Rosie fell slowly to her knees - though she was only a few inches taller than the human child to begin with - so as not to spook the child; she palled her lunch from her basket and held out her hand, "Are you hungry?" The child let her hands fall and she simply stared at the Hobbit in front of her, the child stood so still, unsure if Rosie was friend or foe. The old Hobbit sat up and backed away, letting the girl come forwards. When the apple was gone the child began to cry and came to Rose with arms open wide. She did not know it yet but the young girl clinging to the front of her apron would live a life of adventures one could only dream of...

You get called to your son's school to talk to his teacher for some unknown reason. You meet Thorin Durin, the very handsome high school History teacher. When you leave the school that day, you not only have a sense of relief, you have a date as well. I do not own ANY Hobbit characters. They belong to J.R.R.Tolkien. This is a Modern AU, so Thorin's last name is Durin. (I posted the first 4 parts in my Tolkien one-shot book. Those parts have now been moved.)

Ellendil let the arrow fly from her bow as she said, "I orcs gar- reached i fen!" She jumped over an orc and slid her sword through its back as she turned her gaze on the elf behind her. "Híril Ellendil, I orcs will nia nor- ammen!" the elf said. Ellendil blinked and looked around. "No, they won't," she said when she finally spotted what/who she was looking for. Without a moment's hesitation she flung herself into the fray, striking down any orc that got in her way. Blood splattered her face and finally, she leaped into a tree, drew her bow and loaded an arrow. "Híril Ellendil!" The moon shone in the night sky, and the cold chill of the night air made her breath chilling. She stared at the roaring figure and muttered, "Take down the leader, and you take down the army." Time seemed to stop as she let the arrow fly. It sped through the air slowly, and even slower, the head of the huge figure turned. But it was too late. The arrow struck him in the head, and he fell, dead. "Elldendil! Bellow cin!" Legolas called through the retreating orcs. The tree was shaking, and the orcs swarmed it. Ellendil let more arrows fly, but before she could leap to another tree the branch snapped and she fell into black. * * * Ellendil, younger sister to Legolas, and daughter to Thranduil longs to see beyond Mirkwood. Her deepest desire was to explore beyond Mirkwood, and she did not keep it hidden. With many attempts to escape she is confined to the kingdom and not allowed to enter the trees. In the end she gives up her dream, but all that changes when she meets Elmen. And across the land in Lothlórien the daughter of Galadriel, Elbereth, has not yet found her true love. And in Rivendell, the sister of Arwen and daughter of Elrond, Luthien, is striving to be the best medic she can be. (Ellendil, Elmen, Luthien, and Elbereth are my fanfiction characters. So this is a what if AU that the One Ring was destroyed BUT in the process killed Isildur too and the men blamed the elves so whoop war. There will be lots of elements from both The LOTR and The Hobbit and The Silm, and I tweaked in few cultures and time differences and all the things that would happen differently due to this AU. Eru help me that I can actually remember all those lores.. Oh yeah, there will be canon characters and few ocs. They are all vital to this story so I won't be just using them as random characters to just pop in. Enjoy reading!
