For a moment everyone looked towards Autumn, but she was gaping at Alexei.

"Why would my mother help Randall?" She blew out a breath. "I know she is crazy but she is not that crazy, I know."

"Are you sure?" Alexei asked dramatically.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean she was the one who sentenced you to death. She ordered to burn you alive." He said sarcastically while checking his nails dramatically.

"Yes, but she won't do anything that will threaten supernaturals." Autumn retaliated. "Randall by far is a human and she hates humans, the reason why she sentenced her only daughter to death because she thought I am human which according her is a petty race."

"Uh, yes that is right. But that is not the only reason why she sentenced you to death. From very long time she was practicing dark magic. Sacrificing you would have given her the immense power. Power, that will help her rule every clan of witches present in Alaska. "

Autumn looked confused towards Alexei. "You are such a drama queen Lex. You won't explain everything clearly."

"Let me explain." Dmitri placed a hand on Alexei's shoulder to explain further before Alexei could retaliate. "Autumn" He addressed her. "Your clan was orthodox, you know that right?"

Autumn nodded. So he continued. "You were not the only one that was sentenced to death. Any young girl who did not get her magic powers until the age of sixteen was met with the same fate. Sacrificing them would give immense dark power to the one who ordered such unruliness. Sacrificing you would have given your mother so much power to become a sort of queen in Alaska."

Autumn ran a frustrated hand in her hair and looked around frantically as if finding for answers for her confusion.

"And." Alexei spoke the word vividly. "When you were escaped by Valerie, a dent was placed in her plans. And she knew you were helped by weres. And hence she is hell bent on destroying their community.

"Does she know?" Valerie asked anxiously. "I mean does she know that we were the one that helped her."

"Fortunately no, but she is taking out her anger on all the lycans by helping Randall who shares the same hatred for them."

Valerie started pacing to and fro in anxiety. She looked towards no one on particular when she started speaking hastily and anxiously.

"Oh my God! This is getting complicated day by day. They tried to kill Cayden, they almost killed me. They are attacking every weak pack of Canada and States. They are infiltrating government, making newly made vampires go rouge. They have a witch working with them. They are brain washing rouges and making them fight their own brethren. They almost took out Charles. Can somebody elucidate how the hell are we going to stop them?"

Kevin stopped Valerie from pacing by grasping her from her shoulders and looked dead in her eyes and said. "You need to calm down and take deep breaths. Remember you are the only female alpha in the States who has a seat at the werewolf council community. You are the alpha that saved her territory from constant invasions of the powerful male alphas that attacked you thinking being female would be easy to defeat. You are the alpha who have a security that none can breach easily. You are the alpha who took wolfbane intentionally so that an antidote can be formulated. You are the alpha who is leader of the statistics community of werewolf. You are the alpha who rejected her mate for the good of her people."

Valerie who was anxious suddenly felt more energized and pepped and she muttered a weak thank you to her brother.

"That was a great speech Kevin. But why didn't you tell us that she is the leader of the statistics community. I mean is she really? Is she so good at making war plans that they made her the leader?" Alexei asked.

"Way to kill the moment brother." Dmitri rolled his eyes. "She is and why the tone of surprise. She was trained by a pro and that is me."

"Huh, really. Now I am more doubtful." Alexei retaliated.

Autumn snorted while Valerie rolled her eyes.

A knock interrupted them. It was a soldier accompanied with Cayden. He bowed in front of his alpha. "It is good to see you healthy alpha."

Valerie acknowledged the soldier with a nod and he left. Cayden on the other hand entered the room cautiously. For a few seconds he continued gawking at her and said nothing. No words were spoken between the duo and just feelings were felt. Their energy was too much for everyone to bear. So everyone left them alone, Alexei left the room rather unwillingly as Dmitri used force to make him exit.

The duo was lost in each other. He took tiny steps towards Valerie who did the same and when they reached a common point they both hesitated to embrace each other.

"Thank you."

"Thank God."

They both said those words at the same time. They both laughed and then they both cried.

"I thought I lost you." Cayden whispered.

"I may quarrel with you. I may belittle you. I may want to murder you but don't forget I love you and you won't be able to get rid of me so easily."

Cayden laughed and then took a step forward. He placed his hand on her right cheek. "You were so cold when they brought you in. This warmth is treasure. I have seen you on the verge death Valerie and that is very frightening."

Valerie didn't say anything and smashed her lips on his and poured all her emotions in that single kiss. Cayden reciprocated her emotions. When they broke apart he muttered a soft love you. Valerie smiled and kissed him again.

"How are you?" Cayden asked seriously.

"Better. Much better. Autumn told me how you and Alexei helped me in healing."

"I didn't do much. It was all Autumn and Alexei. But yes, I do have some good news for you. Some of our people are able to infiltrate the government. Charles has provided the antidote to them in case the hunters tried to pull something." Cayden said.

Valerie nodded. She looked around and saw that no one was present. "Where did everyone go?"

Cayden shrugged. "Dunno. Maybe our emotions were too much for them." They both were silent for few minutes before Cayden started speaking again. "I heard they were trying to kill me too. I have done everything in my power to collect every possible information I could against them. They are planning devious things. I haven't brought the files. Once you are free I would like you to have a look at that."

Valerie nodded. She looked towards him straight in the eye and spoke. "I heard Scarlett broke the prison."

Cayden looked down and avoided making eye contact. "I know what you are thinking. How can she escape such high security prison without the help. Believe me, I am thinking the exact same thing. I was so angry at her when you were attacked that I would have almost killed her in the prison but Ryder stopped me from doing so. After that night she fled. I don't know how."

Valerie nodded her head in understanding.

"And whoever did that is very clever because that person has not left a single clue." Cayden continued.

Someone outside was listening the conversation they were having.
