The Two Alphas (Editing)

Part 7

"This is preposterous Ryder." Cayden yelled after listening to what Ryder had to say. "This is blasphemy. I can't do this to my own mate. You know I can't. You saw how she welcomed my pack mates and all the pack officials with respect and love. She is allowing us to inhabit in her pack till ours is ready and this is how you want me to repay her."

Ryder was sitting calmly on the sofa in his alpha's room after the officials and pack members were welcomed in the territory of Valerie's pack.
"Alpha it is just to make her jealous. You know how mates are. Her beast won't allow you to do it and therefore she will ask herself to get marked by you."

The officials and people of the Mystic moon pack were impressed by the Stalwart Warrior pack. Ryder was also impressed with the way this pack conducts everything. He can tell a strong pack when he sees one and this pack was organized and strong. He was more than impressed with the ruling alpha and felt proud that his alpha had got such a strong female companion. But the plan he was suggesting was the only way out of this dire situation in which his alpha was trapped.

Cayden who was pacing in the room, ran a hand in his hair frustrated. He looked towards Ryder and then heaved a defeated sigh. "Fine, then call Scarlet. But be prepared for her questions."

Few minutes later Scarlet was standing in the designated room of her alpha. No one was speaking and Cayden was avoiding every sort of eye contact with her. She was looking confused between Ryder and her alpha. Ryder sensing his alpha's hesitancy to explain the situation started explaining.

When he was done explaining both Ryder and Cayden were looking towards her in hope. Scarlet furrowed her eyebrows and looked intently towards Cayden. She saw vulnerability in those strong eyes of her alpha that could freeze molten lava and she didn't like it for a bit. For the first time in the history her alpha was feeling anxious. He was not able to maintain a direct eye contact with her. Scarlet sighed sensing her alpha's hesitancy.

"I am ready to do it." Both the males in the room smiled. "But." Scarlet continued. "What if I find my mate here in Valerie's pack?"

Cayden looked thoughtful towards Scarlet and said. "Very well, we are being introduced tomorrow to the Stalwart Warriors pack. You can go through them and then if you didn't find a potential mate we will go through the plan."

All the lights in the pack house were off. Jason who felt thirsty went into the kitchen to retrieve a jug of water but stopped immediately when he heard a distant noise. He knew that only the higher ranked officials, alpha Valerie and her family were the inhabitants of the pack house and now with the alpha Cayden and his officers residing in the pack house the safety was breached. He knew that his alpha trusted the new inhabitants but he was on his toes since the arrival of Cayden. Due to present circumstances both Dominic and Jason agreed to be more alert.

When Jason strained to hear clearly he came to know that the voice was coming from alpha Valerie's office. He got attentive and with stealth he started moving towards the office. His steps were light and sly so that the intruder doesn't get attentive. When he opened the door, he switched on the lights and was surprised to find his alpha sitting behind the desk looking tensed and worn out.

Valerie looked flabbergasted. She tried to adjust her vision which was blurry due to sudden light.

"Jason! What are you doing here?" She asked confused.

"I can ask the same question alpha. I heard voices from your office, so I came to check and found you here. Is there something bothering you?" Jason asked.

"Sit." she told Jason. Jason who was still standing at the thresh hold of the door came in and took the chair in front of Valerie.

"You know I can't accept Cayden as my mate?" Valerie asked to which Jason just nodded and narrowed his eyebrows to understand where this conversation was heading.

"Cayden was upset and confused. You know  I am neither rejecting him nor I am accepting him and that is an irritable situation not just for him but for me too."

"Do you want to accept him?" Jason asked.

Valerie sighed and palmed her face. "I never thought I will be mates with an alpha. I thought I will be paired with some lower ranked male but now the situation is completely changed. I am an alpha with some duties...."

"What if you talk to pack members and they agree to relieve you of your duties towards your pack and you have to no more act as our alpha." Jason said cutting Valerie in between.

Valerie looked shocked and she stood up enraged. She hit the desk with her fist and bellowed. "I am the ruling alpha of Stalwart Warriors. This pack is my family, Jason. I won't leave my position. Never. I never expected such a thing from you."

Jason smiled satisfied and Valerie looked towards him gob smacked.

"I am sorry alpha. I had to know whether you are finding yourself trapped in this position or not. I don't want you to feel chained to your duty. I am happy to know that finding a mate hasn't deterred your goal."

"Never do that again." Valerie warned and then she continued. "So you know I called Autumn, the pack witch."

Jason moved forward to listen intently. "She said I was feeding the bond. I kissed Cayden and the physical contact strengthens the bond. She said if I don't want to pursue it then I should maintain my distance and if he wants to take some random female as his mate, I should not intervene."

"And you agreed?" Jason asked surprised.

"Well I am not comfortable with him finding other female but I agreed on avoiding any physical contact. I was just thinking about solutions for us, what can be done for our relationship. I am thinking on discussing it with Flora."

"The seer of our pack?" Jason asked confused. "How can she help?"

"I can ask her to seer a solution for me." Jason nodded. "And I was hoping on inviting Dmitri. He can surely help with his wisdom."

Jason nodded and got up. "It's late at night. You have to address your pack members and introduce them to the new pack. I suggest you take a good sleep."

"You are right." Valerie nodded and off they went to their respective rooms oblivious to the fact that someone was listening to their conversation.
