A fucking lesson to experience.
Beomgyu had always known he was a selfish boy in terms of getting what he wants-but he knows he can't have Taehyun.
He could never have him.
Beomgyu doesn't know why, but there is this gut feeling, tugging at his heart bitterly of the thought of Taehyun. It seems like it knew he couldn't have him by the mere thought of wanting Taehyun to be with him in the future.
Who was Choi Beomgyu when it comes to love anyway?
Choi Beomgyu is only known for his detective skills and amazing deduction. He could solve any case laid onto his palm and pride himself of revealing the suspect with an arrogant grin.
Choi Beomgyu is a man who ruled logical intellect.
But when it comes to love he is a fool who thinks love is nothing more than simple gestures of appreciation. It was true, but the emotions that surfaced with those gestures makes him a fool—because he never felt it until now. And now he sees himself unworthy for a boy who's eyes held an entire universe.
The irony of it all, Choi Beomgyu who finds love is exhausting and stupid has been slapped by the emotion itself—telling him just how destructive it is.
Taehyun could never love someone as unlovable as Choi Beomgyu, a boy who doesn't even understand, ignorant and is terrified of the concept of love.
A fool and a coward.
"Shit," Beomgyu hissed, running a hand through his hair. He stares at the sky, wondering if his choices of becoming fond of Taehyun on the first day they met was a mistake.
Nothing's even happened yet but why does it feel like he already lost the fight?
Why does he feel like the world feels a tad bit too heavy? Is it because he called himself a coward and a fool?
Was this normal for a boy in love?
Beomgyu now thinks he should have asked Soobin if this was just an effect of the realization, but his brother is probably having his time with Yeonjun.
Lucky for them, usually he would grimace at them. But now Beomgyu wanted something like that—even just a little bit.
But didn't want that with anyone, he wants that with Taehyun.
But will he get his chance now? He knows nothing about this kind of love, Beomgyu might have seen it with his parents and with his brother. But he really never gotten the chance to experience it himself, seeing as love at that time was just a mere inconvenience to his life.
All the contemplation with love has somehow formed a headache, poor Beomgyu decided to sit down on a bench near a palm tree—blank eyes staring at the ocean. He tries his hardest to calm his mind and push everything away for peace.
Perhaps the book he read was right when it came to falling in love—it's tiring.
Beomgyu wishes he never fel—
Something cold came in contact with Beomgyu's cheek which made him flinch, eyes snapoing to his right and his heart fluttered as soon as he sees Taehyun holding to a watter bottle with a smile.
"Taehyun," Beomgyu whispers.
Fuck, there it is again, that smile of his and Beomgyu felt proud that he's able to bring it out. And his eyes that held a universe Beomgyu longed to explore, wondering how many stars and galaxies it holds.
"Penny for your thoughts, hyung?"
Suddenly there was a sudden surge of panic crawling inside Beomgyu's veins, his heart was pounding fast and his breathing stopped for a mere second.
"Thoughts?" Beomgyu asked as he laughs, "Oh no, I—uh, I wasn't thinking I was enjoying the view."
"Oh," Taehyun blinks and the smile was gone.
'Should I have said I was thinking?' Beomgyu asked himself.
"Where are Kai and Moh-wa?" he asked, following Taehyun as the young boy sat down next to him.
Beomgyu's heart was beating faster.
"Hwa went out, there was this book she found yesterday and went back for it— Hyuka's with her since he wanted to buy a new laptop," Taehyun says, twisting the cap of the water bottle.
Beomgyu hums, "Why are you here then? Didn't Jisung drag you out for a swim?"
"I escaped," Taehyun answers briefly as he drank water. "I saw you here so I went out."
It was a simple answer, it meant Taehyun wanted to accompany him because Beomgyu was alone.
But the strange thing about love is that it overjoys with even the minimal things, just like now Beomgyu's heart beat quickened more than it did last time to the point he could hear his heartbeat behind his ears. This somehow also affects his breathing as his lungs feel restless and Beomgyu know understands the romcom novels.
This was bad, he was entering delusion a bit too quickly.
"Oh, well—" Beomgyu clears his throat, he opens his mouth but no words came out.
'Gosh what to say?!'
Taehyun gives him a rather concerned look, "You okay hyung?"
"Of course I am, never better," Beomgyu says a bit too quickly, his heart feels like it could burst out if his ribcage.
"You sure? You seems a bit restless, am I interupting your quiet time?" Taehyun asked.
"What? Uh, no I'm not I—"
"Oh no hyung it's fine," Taehyun waves him off before standing up, and Beomgyu swears his heart dropped.
"Wait, Tyun really I—"
"Ey no need to deny it hyung, it's okay to have time alone with yourself. Don't worry I understand," Taehyun flashes him an assuring smile before waving goodbye and started to walk away.
Around this time Beomgyu opened his mouth once more, once again no words came out as he watched Taehyun walk away from him. Then a bitter feeling arised, clawing Beomgyu's chest like talons.
Somehow he knows something like this will happen, it solely depends whether if Beomgyu confessed or not.
Truly he doesn't know.
Beomgyu lets out a groan as he slumped his back on to the bench, eyes glaring at the ocean.
He realized, if this goes on like this.
Beomgyu will most likely lose both Taehyun and their friendship.
