The Future

10 years later. At the compound. Night.

I walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom and froze when i didn't see Nik in there.

Me "Nik?"

I walked Zac's bedroom.

Nik was sitting there with Zac on the ground and they were playing with transformer cars.

I smiled and leaned against the door frame "Well, hello there, my boys"

Nik looked up to me and smiled. 

Zac pouted "not now"

I smiled, amused  "what?"

Zac pouted "ten more minutes, please"

Then he looked at Nik.

Nik shrugged "well, buddy, your mother makes that call"

Zac looked at me with his big blue eyes. 

Suddenly i felt two little arms around my legs and looked down. 

Kenna "Mommy, i had a bad dream"

I looked down at my 7 year old and picked her up "come here, honey"

Then i walked over to the boys. 

Nik stood up, picked Zac up and put him in his bed.

Zac "Kenna can sleep here, i will protect her"

I looked at Nik impressed and he smirked proudly.

Zac has that instinct to protect his little sister.

Kenna nodded "yeah"

I smiled and put Kenna down. 

She climbed into the bed and got under the covers to her brother.

I walked to my babies and kissed them on the forehead "i love you, my little chipmunks"

Nik walked over to me and put an arm around me. 

Then he kissed my temple and whispered "i love you"

My two little babies started to fall asleep.

I smiled "we did that"

Nik smiled and whispered "thank you so much for giving me this beautiful family "

I smiled and kissed him.

We were sitting in our bed cuddling with each other.

Me "Can you believe this?"

Nik looked at me "What?"

me "that it took us nearly 300 years to finally be this happy?"

Nik "every day i got to spent with you made me happy"

I shot him a look and he smirked.

suddenly the door opened and i saw two kids standing there.

I sighed "Zac Elijah Mikaelson"

Nik "Kenna Rebekah Mikaelson, what are you doing awake?"

Kenna rubbed her sleepy eyes.

Zac "We couldn't sleep."

Suddenly Hope walked in behind them "they wanna know the story about how you met Riri"

I asked amused "again? we tell you that story like once a week"

Kenna pouted  "but it's so beautiful"

I could Nik mutter underneath his breath "and tragic"

I shoved him back a little.

Nik chuckled "okay but then you go back to sleep"

The two of them nodded.

I patted the bed "hop on"

The three of them climbed on the bed.

They snuggled to us.

Nik "so around 250 years ago i laid eyes on this beautiful woman...."
