That wasn't really kind of them. The solution to this problem is simple: ask yourself if they help you with the subject in any way. Are they really nice company? If yes, then go ahead and talk to them about this. Ask them if your presence bothers them; if it does, then switch places with someone else. In case they say no (there's a chance that it might be a lie), then it's all cool. And if, in the course of time, you notice that their behavior towards you isn't really nice, then you know what you have to do.
Also, I don't think discussing this topic in private with any of those girls will bring you any good, so be careful.
