"Denver?" I asked and scrunched my brow as Colby chuckled, "Sorta. You'll see." He said as I groaned, "you're killing me, Cole." I said as he grinned, then stood up so he could grab our bags.

When we got off the plane I couldn't help but wonder why he took me to Denver of all places. It didn't make much sense.

Colby was a pretty sentimental guy. He wouldn't just pick a place to pick it.

There had to be a reason.

"Cor, you're thinking too hard." He said as I groaned, "I know but, Denver? That's so confusing." I said as he shook his head, "I'll explain it later, plus it's not Denver. That's just the airport we flew into. Now come on, Cor. Where's my adventurous girl?" He asked as I rolled my eyes.

"That girl left that part of her at the cabin she literally got possessed at." I said coyly as he took my hand and led me towards the car rental stand. "Touché." He said and shrugged, then talked to the guy behind the counter.

I already missed the girls. If I knew I wasn't going to be home for a couple days I would have snuggled them even more. I knew they were in good hands being with my dad and Michelle but it still made me nervous leaving them.

"The girls are fine, Cor." Colby said as he grabbed the key to the rental car. "How'd you know I was thinking about them?" I asked as he smiled softly at me, "We've been married for 6 years, sweetheart." He said and took my hand, leading me to the lot where our rental car was.

I decided to just stop asking questions, and go with the flow. I knew he wasn't going to tell me anything so it would be useless to even waste my breath.

"It's cold here...I'm not dressed for this." I said as we walked towards the parking lot. "Oh, yeah." Colby said then stopped and dropped my hand so he could take his jacket off. "Here you go." He said and put it on me. "My hero." I said as he grabbed our bags again and took my hand.

When we got to the car he opened my door for me and help me get in. "Thank you." I said and grinned at him as he closed the door and threw our stuff in the backseat.

"Are you hungry?" Colby asked as he got in the car and took my hand. "Actually, yeah." I said as he started scrolling through his phone, "okay pick somewhere and we can go." He said as I scrolled through the options, "hmmm Chipotle sounds amazing right now." I said and clicked on the address so we could go.

As we drove I couldn't help but take in the beautiful scenery. It was February so there was fresh snow on the ground, which was something I wasn't used to.

It would snow in North Carolina every once in a while but it would only last a day at most, and it was unheard of for it to snow in LA.

I was always so fascinated by it though, the beautiful silence of it hitting the ground was mesmerizing.

We stopped by chipotle and got our food then continued our journey to the mystery place. "Are we almost there?" I asked as we drove through the mountains. "Yeah, we're like five minutes out." Colby said as I grinned. "This is really pretty." I said and gestured to the view.

"I thought you would think that, just wait though." He said and squeezed my hand.

I couldn't believe how thoughtful this whole thing was. I was just expecting him to take me to dinner or something, but Colby didn't do anything without it being some huge romantic gesture. I should have known he would surprise me like this.

We drove for another couple minutes before we pulled up to this beautiful cabin that was dusted in snow. I felt tears prick my eyes as I thought about our wedding night, we stayed in a very similar style cabin.
