Marriage or a compromise

Part-5

Two days flew like feather. Sanyukta situation was no better. She every now and then suffer from headache
and uneasiness. Renuka tagged it because of weakness and improper diet. But somewhere in his heart Randhir felt it is not the reason. He was scared what if something serious happen.
Randhir took great care of her and try to pamper her the best but still within her comfort zone. He did not want her to suffer more pain. He always maintain a distant from her but make sure she is not in need of anything. He had not even properly eaten or slept properly since last two days. Even he hadn't touch alcohol too. He always asked Kaustuki to be near her.
"Bhai why you always ask me to be near Sanyukta?" Kaustuki always
question Randhir
"Kaustuki I'm not going to office but I have important work to be done ...so you be with Sanyukta till I finish my work." He always make an excuse.

It was 5 in the evening. Randhir was in the balcony busy finalizing a business deal over the phone when he
heard a loud sound from washroom. He immediately ran inside to found the bed empty. His heart skipped a beat at the thought which just crossed his mind. He ran towards the washroom door and try to dash inside but the door was locked from inside. He felt more scared with each passing second. He banged the door and yelled her name.
"Sanyukta open the door." Randhir yelled. There was no response from the other side.
"OK don't open the door at least tell me you are alright." Randhir yelled
louder this time. May be he failed to get the response from her but he didn't fail to gather the attention of the people in his house. He keep on banging the door yelling her name. Just wishing to get a response from
her. Renuka and Kaustuki hurriedly ran to Randhir room on hearing the commotion going on there.
"What happened beta? Why are you so tensed." Renuka asked as she
entered the room.
"Mom..mom..Sanyukta isn't
responding..she..mean...i.." Randhir tried to explain as fear struck his senses.
"Bhai calm down..and please tell
properly what happened."
"Kaustuki..I was in the balcony talking over the phone when I heard a loud
'thud' sound from washroom. I..i ran inside to find Sanyukta not on the bed ...mom..she is inside...may be laying
There fainted...and it is locked from inside...mom..I..don't know what to do...my sanyukta..she is there inside...may be not in her senses...or may be in utter pain..mom i
don't know...mom..she need me." Randhir said as his eyes welled up with tears. He again started banging the door when Kaustuki suggested to break it.
"Bhai break the door." She said. And Randhir without giving a second thought to her words pushed the door hard making the lock break leaving the door open.
As soon as the door open he saw his love laying on the floor. She was not in her senses. She, as a corpse was
laying on the floor. The tap was open and she was all wet.. Randhir ran towards her and patted her
cheeks, making as many futile attempts he can to wake her up. In this he didn't notice that he himself
have become wet due to overflowing of water. Kaustuki closed the tap. "Bhai..take her in the room."
Randhir picked her up and made her lie on the bed.
"Bhai you change her clothes or else she will fall more ill. Till then I will call the doctor." Kaustuki suggested. All this while renuka was too numb to react for anything.
"Kaustuki you change her clothes...I I'll call the doctor." Randhir said. Randhir was trying to change himself but still a part of him was beast. What
if he is not able to control himself. What if his action pain her more and the major question how will she react when she will come to know about it? He don't want her to hate him more and suffer pain again.
"But bhai..."
"Stop arguing Kaustuki and do as i say."
"Kaustuki you go and change Sanyukta clothes..Randhir you change yours even you are wet too. I don't want you too to fall ill. I'll call the
doctor..." Renuka said for the first time in all this while.

"Doctor...you seem worried...is any thing wrong with,my wife." Randhir asked.
"Mr. Shekhawat...I guess your
wife is suffering from brain tumor.."
"What? How can this be possible doctor." Randhir said.
"I'm not sure Mr. Shekhawat...but I'll suggest you some test...you get the tests done then only only I can the you. And i have given her injection...she will wake up after 4-5 hours."

"Where are we going Mr. Shekhawat?" Finally Sanyukta asked as they sat inside the car. Her voice
was weak yet firm.
"Just for the regular checkups.." Randhir tried to sound honest.
'Randhir don't lie to her. She should know about her health.' His mind spoke.
'I'm not lying. I'm just hiding the truth for a while.' His heart clarified.
'It's one and the same thing.' His mind again spoke. Randhir had hard time
controlling his inner turmoil. He know his mind is right but how can he tell her that she is suffering
from brain tumor. How will she react? He can't see her in more pain. And moreover it is yet not confirmed. He is just waiting for reports to come and then he will tell her everything.
As soon as they reached the hospital Sanyukta clutched Randhir palm between hers. At first Randhir
thought it was by mistake. He looked up at Sanyukta to see her expression but all he could see was fear.
Yes she was afraid. But it is just a hospital. Randhir wondered. Her gaze was in front. Her grip on his palm was becoming tighter with each passing
second. He could feel the sweat beads forming in between their palms.
"Sanyukta..''
"Auh!!"
"Are you OK." Randhir asked his
voice full of concern.
"Can we go back home? I'm not feeling good." She said.
"Let your checkups get over then we will go back." Randhir tried to assure
her.
"I don't want to go through any checkups."
"But why?"
"I..I font like this place."
"No one like this place Sanyukta..stop acting like a child..and let's go inside."
"I feel suffocated inside...the smell make me feel dizzy." Randhir don't know what to do or say...he had
never come across of such situation. He could see her breaths becoming uneven..he can't let her get stressed. It's not good for her health.
Without giving a second thoughts to his act he hugged her tightly trying to calm her down and to his surprise she did not protested neither by her words nor by her actions. He could feel her melting down in his embrace. He could feel her breaths becoming even too.
Even Sanyukta felt little awkward at his sudden act but at the same time it felt so right. She felt like this is the place where she belong in his arms near his heart. She too hugged him back. This is their first 'personal' hug.
"Calm down Sanyukta..everything will be fine..Mai hu na." He said caressing her back."
"Let's go." He said.

As they reached inside, a nurse called her name.
"Mrs. Shekhawat."
"Yes."
"Your turn has come. Please follow
me ma'am and sir you please wait here as we had to do some test."
Sanyukta looked at Randhir who gave her a assuring smile that everything will be OK.

After completing various checkups they finally reached home.They came out of the car and walked towards
the house. Sanyukta was about to fall when Randhir caught her.
"Are you OK?" His voice was concerned
"Bas thoda chakaar aagaya." She
replied
"Will you be able to walk?"
"Guess so."
"Should I pick you up?" He blurted out. He don't know what made him ask this. She nodded slightly. And soon she found himself in his arms. She wondered what made her agree to this?
Randhir carried her in his arms and Sanyukta encircled her arms around his neck for support. Randhir slowly
made her lie on the bed.
"Now you rest..I'm here only..if you want anything call me." He said.
"You should go to office. Don't leave your work for me." She said meekly.
"Sanyukta you are my priority." He said.
