William giggled as his rain-boots splashed into the large muddy puddle beneath him, happily holding his umbrella high above his head.
It was after school now and he was walking home with Vincent, his best friend. It wasn't usual that it rained heavily here, so when it did, Will was always super eager to go outside and feel the pouring rain create a waterfall over his umbrella.
His umbrella began to weigh heavy against his little arms, struggling to keep it up against the splattering raindrops. Luckily, Vincent was holding the umbrella with him, keeping it standing upright since the boy was older and stronger than William.
"We should probably take the shorter way home, if we stay out here any longer we could get sick." Vincent spoke to him, ignoring the mud piles while William happily jumped into them and grinned.
"But-" William whined, "I-I wanna stay out here longer.."
"Do you want father to yell at us when we get home?" Vincent gave a small sigh, taking William's hand between his own, "It's best we get there early."
William squeaked in protest as Vincent dragged him along the wet sidewalk, his boots soaking in the mud puddles.
