Chapter 21

Mina's POV
"It should be close by.." I looked at my phone. "Do you see the park? We  are meters away."

Meg pointed. "To our left! I see a couple of people."

I texted my friend and saw one of the people on the court wave. "Didn't get lost!" We crossed the street and got in the field.

Joonie jogged, almost ran to me and hugged me so tight it almost sucked the air out of my lungs. "Hey! I missed you so much!"

I forgot how good he smelled, the softness of his shirt.. "I missed you too, oppa." I looked up, seeing his bright smile. "It's been a while."

He put a strand of my hair behind my ear. "Your hair is as long as when we met last time."

I had to laugh at that. "That's true." I turned to my friend. "That's Meganne."

She bowed down. "Nice to meet you, Namjoon-ssi." She wasn't confident in speaking Korean so English would be what she'd use. She understood Hangul well, just not talking.

He grinned and gave her a fist bump. "Nice to meet you! How about you meet my crew?" He motioned them over. "I think you'll be happy."

I laughed. "I'm just glad to hang out with you again."

Meg pulled my sleeve. "Boo, am I hallucinating?"

Making their way to us was a friend of Namjoon's he told me about, Jihoon, Moonbyul from Mamamoo and Jungkook. Quite the line up if you ask me! We greeted them properly and Kookie was already joking around. "Ohhh look at her, she got all shy! She's on my team!" He grabbed my friend by the shoulder. "Don't be shy, we're here for fun."

"How do we divide the teams?" Jihoon asked.

Moonbyul eonni pulled us away from the boys, a smile across her face. "I say boys versus girls! For once, I'm not the only lady playing with them."

She had such a nice energy it made us less timid right away. My cockiness got out. "I'm sure the split is more than fair. Don't you, Namjoon oppa?"

Namjoon's POV
I knew that look. Competitive much? That smirk on her face was so pretty I didn't even want to wipe it off her face. "Fine. We start like this and adjust the teams until they're the fairest they can be?"

We all agreed. "Deal!"

Mina took an elastic out of her green cargos and tied her hair in a high ponytail. A whisper. "Hyung, stop staring." Oh. Was I?

She took her hoodie off and put it on the bench. "Okay! Ready to play!"

The teams were surprisingly fair. I was tall, but not the best coordinated. We'd get the ball often, but we focused on making the basket ourselves. The girls talked to eachother and made great passes. We were better at intercepting, but they were more calculated when it was time to shoot. Meg was having fun as Kookie was messing with her.
Mina and Moonbyul eonni were cheeky with us. I was glad we made it work. Mina was so into it, stray hair stuck to the side of her face, her cheeks were flushed, her smile was plastered on. She commented our good shots even on the opposite team. To my surprise, the girls won our 5 points game. "How about we get two captains and make teams?"

Mina nodded. "Sure! Meg, want to be captain?"

She seemed surprised. "Okay! I don't mind."

Jihoon turned to Namjoon. "You brought us here. You be captain."

It was settled then. "Ladies first."

"Jihoon, he made 3 of your 4 baskets."

I'd leave JK to her. "Mina."

She walked over. "Why am I not surprised?" She whispered to me. "You didn't pick Kookie on purpose did you?"

I nodded. "Would look too much like our old team too."

Meg grinned. "I take Jungkook-ssi then!" He walked to her and gave her a high-five.

Moonbyul joined us. "We'll kick their butts." Without knowing we were the moon team. Moonbyul, Moonie and the moon child herself. The others were the fun bunch, they kept fooling around!

We stayed tied at 4-4 for ages! We stopped because we were tired. "Woah! I thought it was supposed to be a light game time, not a workout!" I sat down next to Mina, wiping the sweat off with my sleeve.

She laughed. "It was so fun. Thank you for inviting us."

Moonbyul joined. "You're nice to hang out with. All of you. It had been a while. Think we can make a group chat?"

Mina's POV
Believe it or not. We had a group chat, all 6 of us. Sadly, they had to leave for their afternoon practice. We side hugged with Jk, Jihoon and Moonbyul. Namjoon hugged me tight. "You're going to MC countdown in two days?"

I nodded. "Wouldn't miss it."

He approached his lips from my ear and whispered. "Next time, just you and me?" He pulled back and winked. Did the sun just come out? It got hot all of a sudden.

"Looking forward to it. Have a good practice."

I watched them leave, except one. "Hey, are you girls free? I'd be up for lunch if you wouldn't mind accompanying me."

Meg and I nodded picking up our things. "We'd love that. If you have a place in mind, we're following you!"

I think my friend never imagined her first trip to Korea being this eventful.
