Prologue

"So this is it? You're..you're really leaving?Huh? You're leaving? After everything?" He asked, breathless. She cried. Painful unstoppable ugly tears. "I.. You know I have to. There's no other way around this, never was, never will be" She whispered.

"Baby, look, look at me" He pulled her arm towards himself and held her face in his huge hands, where she belonged. She knew it with every breath that she took. "How can you leave like this? You know you can't , then why are you putting us through this?" He growled. The red bloodshot eyes filled with tears were blinding his vision, but even with the blindness, all he could see was her & them. "Sidharth?" She looked at him with a look that made a shiver run down his spine. "You know it, you know this is what I was supposed to and expected to do, I have to leave. You think this is easy for me? I didn't come here all those months ago expecting that my life will take a change, or that I'll stumble upon a life that I never knew I could have?"

"Do you know how it feels to have a life that you feared even dreaming about, suddenly being handed to you and making every cell in your body and every nerve in your system realize that this was it. This was what you needed right from the beginning, but can never have? Getting so comfortable in it, for it only to be snatched away from you?" She breathed it all out, breathless and hot painful tears staining her beautiful face. She let the pain out, or at least tried to.

He chuckled bitterly. "Sweetheart? Hate to break it to you, but guess what? That makes the two of us. I know it because you're not the only one living through it". He turned his face around so that she can't see his face. He always did this. Everytime, the truth becomes too much to let out, he turns his face away but does he not understand? She does not need to have a look at his face or hear the words from his mouth to be able to see through his pain, she knows. She can feel it even when he's miles away from her. At this point, she just cried, silently and helplessly.

"Sidharth" she whispered after a beat, putting a trembling hand on his shoulder. "Talk to me, tell me what to do, how to make this pain stop, what shall I do?" He turned around and looked at her beautiful face. " We can't really do anything, can we?" He asked, almost whispered. He was scared to hear the answer, he was scared of uttering the truth to even himself. He knew it's going to break them to no end. She met his painful eyes & shook her head, crying silently.

"This is it" she said, staring at the wall.

"You know what? Fuck this." He breathed, turning around & moving towards the door, keeping both his hands on his waist. 'Wha..What?" She asked scared of what might be coming her way.

"I'm done. I FUCKING knew where we were headed right from the beginning and yet? Yet I let myself happily & willingly walk into this" he stated, shouting. She flinched. "You & I? we had different paths right from the beginning & yet I fucking chose this for myself". He was constantly running a hand in his thick hair. He was gasping. He could feel the literal life being sucked out of his system with every word that he was uttering.

"But, I'm done now. You can fuck off to wherever you were supposed to, do whatever the fuck you wanted to. I'm out of here." He shouted, his voice breaking at the end. He reached for the door. "Sidharth, please.. please listen to me" she cried running after him. The moment her hand reached out for his arm, he flinched as if burnt and pulled his hand away. "Stay the fuck out of my way". He slammed the door on his way out and she? She just fell to the ground crying inconsolably, seeing how the reason for her existence, her home just walked out of her life like that.
