GUYS! THIS BOOK HIT 20K READS! THANKS FOR THAT AND PLEASE ENJOY THIS ONE SHOT! MWAH :D!

"I cannot believe that Jay is graduating," Elliot spoke, as he sat on the edge of his parents' hotel bed, while his mother did her hair in the bathroom and while Joseph shinned his shoes.

"I know... I feel so old." Bernie sighed from the bathroom. Elliot looked over at his father and saw the pride he took in making himself look put together for his son's graduation. Elliot frowned because he also knew that his father didn't even come to his graduation from the Police Academy.

"Uh, I'm gonna go get us all some coffee. Do you want some, Dad?" Elliot asked, as he stood and grabbed his suit jacket. He pulled it on as he waited for his father's response, but Joseph was too busy working on his shoes that he wasn't paying attention to Elliot.

"Just get us each a black coffee. And if they have muffins, I'd like one." Bernie smiled gently, as she walked out of the bathroom and looked at her son. Elliot noticed the love in her eyes, and he knew that she was proud of him even if his father wasn't.

"Of course, Ma. I'll be back soon." Elliot spoke. He walked over to her and kissed her cheek softly before he turned and left the room.

Sitting in the cafe on campus, Olivia was working on her speech. She wasn't the top of her class, but she had made some difference in the school. She had protested against the expulsion of a few girls that had been raped on campus and who had gotten in trouble for letting it happen to themselves, and she even got the school to put money towards an actual counselor that helped and took the right steps towards helping victims instead of publically shaming them. The headmistress thought that she was a pest, but most of the school thought she was actually starting to open their eyes.

Olivia pushed a piece of long brown hair over her shoulder, before leaning forward a bit and looking straight down at her speech. She let out a sigh, louder than she had anticipated, and then she saw a shadow fall over her table and she looked up to see a man standing there.

"Can I help you?" Olivia asked, not even afraid of the stranger.

"Actually, I feel like I can help you. That sigh was very dramatic." Elliot smirked, as he looked at her.

"Ah, well I kinda do... what is your stance on rape on campus?" Olivia questioned, and he eyed her for a moment before sinking down onto the chair in front of her and shrugging.

"I don't go to school here... but I'm against it. I feel like-" Elliot started, but he stopped himself when Olivia's grew large with distrust.

"Why are you here then, huh?" She huffed, and Elliot laughed softly before smiling at her. He loved the way her face changed so quickly and her expression was so... there. It wasn't like she was trying to hide her feelings.

"My little brother is graduating. I am at the hotel just to the side of campus, and I came here to get coffee and a muffin for my parents. But I'll leave now if I made you uncomfortable." Elliot spoke, but he didn't want to walk away from her. He felt himself already feeling attracted to her, and he was wondering if he should ask for her name and number before he left. But he didn't want to be too forward.

"Oh. Well then..." Olivia trailed off. Elliot gathered his items, before looking back down at her again.

"I believe that, as an officer, no crime is right. Rape shouldn't be accepted because people believe that women are still inferior." Elliot spoke, and Olivia's eyes went wide and a wide smile grew on her lips.

"Really?" She asked eagerly.

"Really. Now, I'll leave you be. I need to go figure out what tie I want to wear to graduation..." Elliot spoke, and Olivia nodded. He left her, and she went right into writing her speech again.

Elliot looked back before he walked out and a smile played at his lips. He was going to find her somehow... and he was going to woo the pants off of her.

///

Elliot didn't even realize that the girl he had talked to was graduating with Jay. But he listened to her speech and he clapped the loudest for her, and Olivia noticed him. She smiled at him from the podium before she walked down and joined the rest of the students.

He listened carefully and he matched her name with the face he knew, and he quickly wrote down Olivia Benson on his hand before going back to waiting for his brother to get his diploma.

"Where is that kid?" Joseph huffed, as he stood by a large oak tree with his wife and second youngest son.

"There he is. And he's with that girl who said that powerful speech!" Bernie exclaimed, but Joseph didn't like the speech.

Elliot's head quickly turned towards where his mother was pointing and he saw Olivia and Jay walking together, hand in hand, towards the Stabler's. Elliot was upset that Olivia and Jay were together, but then again he knew that Jay probably wouldn't be able to live up to what Olivia deserves. She needs someone just as passionate as she is, and Elliot knew he could be that.

"Hey, guys! Mom, Dad, and Elliot... this is my girlfriend Olivia." Jay grinned, as he dropped Olivia's hand and wrapped his arm around her body.

"It's so nice to meet you all..." Olivia trailed off when she noticed Elliot.

"Do you two know each other?" Jay asked, noticing that Olivia and Elliot were staring at each other.

"He helped me with my speech this morning... he is the reason why the last two paragraphs were so powerful. I guess I didn't realize that eyes that blue ran in the family." Olivia grinned.

"Your eyes are beautiful, by the way." Elliot blurted out, and everyone's eyes were upon him.

"Elliot, can we talk real quick." Jay huffed, before grabbing his big brother's arm and tugging him down the sidewalk and away from their parents and Jay's girlfriend.

"What?" Elliot asked.

"Back off my girl, Elliot. I love her, you asshole." Jay huffed.

"Jackson Hugo Stabler, she isn't who you want," Elliot replied because he knew his brother too well.

"What? Elliot!" Jay exclaimed, one because he hated being called by his full name and he didn't want to take Olivia from him.

"Jay, you want a girl who is more than willing to give up her life to have children with you. To have you in the center of her heart... but Olivia is passionate. She is strong, stubborn, and I feel like she will never be able to give you what you want. But Jay, I look at her and I feel as if I have butterflies in my stomach." Elliot spoke, passionately.

Jay looked at his big brother, before swallowing hard.

"You love her?" Jay asked, and Elliot shrugged.

"I really like her... I just met her but I think that I will be able to love her... and I want to be able too." Elliot breathed. Jay looked over his shoulder to see his mother and Olivia sitting together and talking. He loves Olivia, but he did realize that she was a little much to handle. She was very much full of spirit and she was confident. He knew that she needed someone to fight to keep herself happy.

"I guess you should give her this in the future." Jay frowned, as he pulled a velvet box from his pocket and passed it to his brother. Elliot felt his heart tighten and he frowned.

"Jay, nevermind. I didn't know you were so in love with her that you wanted to marry her. I'm sorry. Please forget what I said." Elliot spoke, as he passed the box back to his little brother. Jay looked at his brother and shook his head.

"I think you and Olivia will make a perfect couple... I guess I just needed you to tell me that she isn't who I want her to be. She's special, and I'm about to break her heart..."

///

Olivia was a little upset about Jay breaking up with her, but she felt like it was meant to be. She walked back to her dorm to clean it out before heading to her mother's apartment for the week she had to wait before she went to the Police Academy. As she walked back, her diploma and cap held by her sides, her name was called.

"Olivia!" Elliot exclaimed another time, and she finally stopped and turned around.

"Oh. Uh, is Jay okay?" Olivia asked, and Elliot nodded.

"He is... I just wanted to say something to you. Is that okay?" Elliot asked, and Olivia eyed him for a moment.

"I'm going to join the academy, Elliot. So if it's a big deal that I am... hold back telling me that you like me." Olivia spoke, and Elliot's eyes went wide.

"What?" He questioned, and she smiled softly.

"Jay told me that he wanted someone to be his helpmate. He said he loves me, but that we would just be unhappy together. He also said that you liked me." Olivia spoke.

"Oh." Elliot breathed.

"So, I don't want to be rude and go on a date with you before your brother has had time to heal."

"Do you have a heart?" Elliot laughed softly, and Olivia sighed.

"I dated Jay for a year, and even though I really liked him... I knew he wasn't the one for me. I have feelings and I have seen more than my fair share of pain and suffering in my life. But when my heart knows that it wasn't right, and my brain agrees, I know that it isn't right." Olivia replied.

"I live in New Jersey right now... but if you want I will get transferred to Manhattan so we can-"

"Slow down there, Stabler... give me about 22 weeks then we can start seeing each other." Olivia smiled, and Elliot was confused for several minutes before he blinked a few times and saw that Olivia had walked away. He looked around and saw that she had tucked her number into his chest pocket and he smiled.

5 and a half months is a lot of time, but Elliot was willing to wait that for her.
