We both hear 3 knocks on the door and the door open. "Hi Emma, it's good to see you again! Who is this handsome fella you brought with you?"
Eli interjects "I'm her boyfriend and the father of her baby."
"How wonderful! So what we are going to do today is do a quick ultra sound to see how far along you are. Can you lift your shirt up?" I do as she says.
"Now this gel is a little cold." Just as she puts the gel on my stomach I jump and grab Eli's hand.
"Well, it looks like you're about 7 weeks pregnant."
Eli looks at me with a smile on his face. "Why are you smiling so big?"
He whispers to me "the baby is mine." It made my heart flutter. I just smiled at him.
Dr. Peterson interrupts our moment "would you both like pictures?"
We say yes in unison. She smiles and goes over the prenatal care and what I should expect in the following weeks. She also asked me to schedule an appointment in 3 weeks so we can hear the heart beat.
We thanked her and she walked out of the room.
As soon as the door closed Eli kissed me like his life depended on it. He looks me in the eyes "I love you, Emma. So much."
"I love you, Eli." And he kisses me again.
